I've always loved that picture! So, what do you think Mary? Should I incubate? Someone enable me!

Now thats the way to raise a puppy that wont kill chickens.I'm going to start setting eggs aside for a ''bater run of Arkansas Blues. My only quandary would be my last CL hen, whose eggs are close in color, but slightly green. So if I leave those out I should be all right. I may throw in a few Delaware eggs as well, the cross hen I have from last year is a great layer of light Olive green eggs.
Saw this today from FB - so cute!

I'm sorry, Kara. I've had only two completely sudden deaths of fairly young birds, one was Atlas's sister, Robin, and the other was Suede and Caroline's daughter, Glenda, who was two years old. I think Robin choked (she always gagged on scratch and I heard her doing it a few minutes before I found her) and I think Glenda's was an accident at roost time, but not really sure.Yes, incubate more Brahma babies to squeal over! Lol
Had a shocking sudden death in our flock. And not the sickly Jane who is doing fine back in the coop. But one of our white leghorns. She was fine earlier but I just went out to give Jane her meds and found Betsy dead in the run. No signs of injury. Because they are just barely a year old I wouldn’t think it was heart attack or stroke, so I’m guessing she choked on something.![]()
Well, here is my final report on my chicken. It looks like a it is a precise DX.
Funny how the only chicken that has it is the tolbunt polish. All my other hens haven't shown any sign. I called the breeder I got her from. She said she has never had it. She used to vaccinate her chicks for it, but hasn't done it for a few years. She also takes her birds to shows. It would seem like that would be a easy place to get it. I really cant imagine everyone who has Mareks on their property doesn't sell, swap or show their chickens. Very sad but it helps me concentrate on what I can do with mine, Eat the eggs and the meat.
And basically, this is the same as the last paper you had. I don't see anything about tissue testing on the report. They are going on visual findings and general age and condition and absence of anything to disprove Mareks, etc, it seems to me, unless I am just not seeing it.Other causes and diseases have not been ruled out.
Microscopic examination confirmed there was a severe lymphoproliferative population of cells infiltrating a variety of organs, compatible with Marek’s disease
