The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Thanks! I like things that have dimension to them.

Thanks, Lisa.

Well, that's good, at least. My good friend, Ellie, lives just south of Redding. She is quite the homesteader. I know her taxes are extremely high, much worse than mine. She has 7 acres, if I recall, grows a huge garden, has chickens (many descended from Suede), cans her own food, has three giant water storage tanks and irrigation all over her place. That's like a completely different country than south CA, I take it.
Yes, it is. Good for her. I heard the fires around Redding are really bad.

How do I breed a barred bird? Do I need a barred roo or a barred hen?

I am going to start breeding a project bird.

Both, if you want double barred male offspring. A hen will only pass her barring gene to her sons. A male passes it to both gender offspring. But a male can't be double barred unless he gets a copy from both his mother and his father.

Oh, and my jersey giants from sandhill have feathered legs. What’s up with that?
They may be Langshans
