The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I see a post on my former DIL's FB page, which is a public post--I have never been on her "friends" list, but I can see public ones, of course:

Elizabeth Shea Taylor I’m so proud of you ❤️ so excited for your new journey in life! I can’t wait to see you again.

What the heck has she told these people? Proud of her for cheating on her husband for at least a year? Really? Seriously? I'm not sure what tall tales she has spread around to her "friends". I can't wait to see what is posted in the next week. I found a site that shows every one of her Instagram posts and she admitted to carrying on with this boy for at least a year. All the posts are super juvenile, like a 15 year old would write. I think she is mentally about that age, really. I feel like I landed in some alternate universe. I bet my son does, too. He has a young lady friend who calls him Dad and she quit speaking to his wife when all this started. She is completely Team Michael. Apparently, she has a key to the house (which she knows will be no good as of this week) and said if she felt something was really off, she could go check on him, that she was supporting him every step of the way. She is very sweet, seems to really love him like a father. He has some great friends and so many of them find this, as one guy said, "thoroughly disgusting".

One thing I find very odd...on Facebook, none of the family of this boy, or he himself, has said one word about his new woman or anyone coming from the States to be with him. Not one peep.

I haven't ever seen that show myself, not sure what channel it would be on, but Dr. Phil has had plenty of shows about the subject. I don't watch him regularly because sometimes, he rubs me entirely the wrong way, but I've seen a few of those and it fascinates me how gullible people are. Haven't heard anything yet about what happened with her over there.
It is on mtv but I watched it on Netflix

I wouldn't send that much to someone I've met, and like, let alone to a stranger. In the words of PT Barnum, a fool and his money are soon parted.
Actually, I think P.T. Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute", but same diff. Both are very true! anyone who dumps their entire life for someone they never met is most definitely a fool.

Hmm, this is very odd. I saw a public post by "her" that said she had fun here today, meaning the city of Blackpool about an hour and a half north of Liverpool right on the coast. However, there has been zero mention of her new guy from her and none from his family about her. Seems bizarre to me. Most folks who are head-over-heels in love post tons of photos of their new person and stuff they're doing. Could just be she has those posts set to "Friends Only" and we're just not able to see them, but one of her friends on FB posted something on her page like "Hey, you didn't check in". I'm refraining from asking my son about it because I would rather he try to get his mind on other things. I want him to concentrate on making his house his own, not theirs, getting his big yard sale stuff together. I said he should really get rid of the stuff in at least two of his four bedrooms for the future in case he moves into a smaller house for him and the dogs. He's taking Ghost to the vet today to get the microchip adjusted with his own information rather than hers.
I'm watching closely to see a hint that she may be coming back here. I want their divorce final before she does!

In chicken news, MaryJo is still only bones and feathers, even thinner than Bailey was. I heard a commotion in the Atlas pen this a.m. and ran to see. MJ had stuffed herself in the tightest corner she could to get away from the attentions of Atlas. As tiny and frail as she is, he truly could break her! As for Bailey, she is on the upswing, doing better, more energy, but Bonnie is in a full-on hard molt as is Zara. They are so bare. Zara's comb even turned purplish, poor thing. Why this year's molts are so bad, I'm not sure. Any ideas? And why do the hens have a worse time than any of the roosters? Bash and Atlas and Hector are all going through molts, but seem fine. Maybe adding the egg production thing makes it much worse for the ladies.

No doubt tying up a considerable amount of your nutritional resources in producing eggs is a big strain when you have to replace all those high-protein feathers. That is why I do not put lights in my coop until late February or even March - that time off from laying lets them plump up and resist the cold better, and lets them replenish their stores of calcium and pigments.
Plus it is so cold here in the middle of winter the eggs freeze before I can get home from work to collect them, so often go to waste anyways.
