Finally got the sink hooked up in my bathroom. Why do simple things end up taking a day and a half to get done?

We've been having some cooler weather, like 70's during the day and I'm really enjoying it.

The other night me, DD, and her SIL went to this place where we all sit around the chef that's making the food. It was really nice. I had trout for the first time, then a few courses of German inspired food. Very classy and a small group of 24. The food and company were so good. We will have to do it again. They call some chefs "mixologists" now, I guess it means they put the flavors of a meal together in an interesting way. Personally, I love food no matter what (color plate) it's on , LOL.

We have had some days in the 50's. Here. It's warmed up into the 60's for a few days here. Too warm for me now.

Same here although I love the 70's days in the fall

I love food especially when someone else cooks it.

Integrated the pullets with the big birds by putting them in the big coop after dark. I've done that the last few years and they do great. Probably since they have been living in adjacent pens since the babies were old enough to go outside. Everyone seems to be mingling well, and the rooster is not being funny about the new girls.

seminole, that sounds interesting, and delicious. We finally got my SUV all fixed. It's running great, and the AC is blowing cold. The same night I got my truck back, the spare fridge stopped working. I lost a little food, but not too much. I mostly use that fridge for keeping water bottles cold, and overflow food when my main fridge, and freezer are full. If it's not one thing, it's another.

I paid around $300.00 for it, used, about 7 years ago. It's really not worth fixing. We went to one of the nearby appliance repair places today, and looked at what I might replace it with. They've got some nice ones for around $300.00.

My oldest Delaware hen (I think she's 4) is having a total meltdown moult this year - the coop looks like someone killed a feather bed

I have a bunch of hard molting birds too. It looks so uncomfortable for them.

Mine lose so much weight when they molt. Mary Jo and Zara have such sharp keels, though they are up the upswing as far as feather growth.

Closing is next Tuesday. They had it set for Monday and I had to say, hey, that's a bank holiday. Always doing someone else's job for them .
Apparently, since Tom and I were realtors here in GA, the rules have changed so that any amount over $5000 now cannot be a bank cashier's check, even though we have a local, well-known bank we've been members of for 17+ years and an 850 credit score. It has to be direct wired to the closing attorney. So, we have to do that for the first time ever. When we bought this house, we had a bank check for over $40K in 2002. I'd never heard anything about that new regulation. So have to call the bank and see if they need any lead time for that since closing is late Tuesday afternoon and the banks are closed on Monday.

Not happy that our main savings account will be almost completely drained and that I can't pay what I charged for the septic system in full because of that, but this came up now and it was do or die. I have my other account that will never be touched, plus cash reserves here and there so it's not like we have no money, but it will be filled back up in a few months' time. And we'll have our land island of 5.37 ac back, abutting no one else's lot lines again. At least, we have our woodpile set for most of the winter already and more wood to be gleaned from the property, no expenditure needed in that department.
We're in the process of moving everything from the original coop to this building closest to the steel barn and will eventually tear down that main 8x20 coop. We put in shelving and moved a big metal shelving unit into that building that had been laying in the yard rusting into the front storage area of that 8x12 shed. All the trim on that original coop is rotten and one part of the floor on one side is sagging for some reason, just falling in on itself without birds living in it. We can't manage to paint or replace trim on it and even the one we're putting stuff into needs renovating some on the outside-plywood is delaminating and around the door has been leaking so the sill is rotten, etc. Way too much to paint here so at least the main barn is steel and won't rot!

Most of mine , too are molting and prickly.

Ouch! That's terrible. I hope she gets those feathers before it gets real cold.

Love the workshop! I guess that coop your talking about has reached it's limit on life! Probably really old?
What a clean workshop, LOL. I guess the pic is right after the move.

I need to get started on some fixes on the barn my horse is in. I would like to make it as enclosable as I can. It's a drafty old thing. The back wall needs to be re done and needs a full door. I also need to fix some spots that get muddy. That's an endless battle.

I think we've had a mouse for a while. I'm guessing it's one, LOL. Caught him last night. I guess we'll keep putting traps out til we don't catch anymore. Darn thing has been all over the house even in some empty drawers upstairs. The worst was yesterday I was getting ready to shower and the little bugger runs past me!
