The Fathers Day Hatch-A-Long!!! The Last Day To Set eggs Is June 3rd!!!!

You amaze me that you can keep up with each egg hatching!!

3 FBCM are out, more pips = more chicks soon. :celebrate

I'mnot that great at it. I was candling the leftover eggs from this hatch date and had one good one so I was wondering why it hadn't pipped the internal sac yet an still had good veining then I noticed the date it's from the next tach date. It's a silkie too, good thing I candled and didn't toss.

I have a ton of eggs scheduled to hatch on 6/21 but they seem to be running 1 1/2 days ahead in my bator. So I bet I have pips Tue or Wed. :D

Maybe someone can answer this if I keep getting 11/2 day early pips on my top shelf should I look at dropping my temp for a better hatch rate? But that would drop the temp on the bottom shelves and they would take longer. I'm afraid to touch the temp since eggs are hatching.

I got 19/28 on shipped eggs.

On my last hatch I only had 4/40 non shipped eggs NOT hatch.

My temp on the window is steady so I know the bator is holding it's temps, whatever they are for each shelf perfectly. I'm afraid to even check temps for fear I might start adjusting.

I am using the Hova Bator Genesis, and I just went on lockdown. I took out the egg turner(put them in egg cartons) and made sure #1 was full and filled #2. It has a fan and I am wondering if the humidity will get up to or if it supposed get up to around 80% with these incubators? Or all incubators?

mine stays around 70% during the last 3 days, now the last hatch I did didnt turn out so good and I belive it was because my Humidity went to like 90% and Im still not sure why it did that, but so far on this hatch the humidity has been good,,I'v only used one kind of incubator, its a styrofoam little giant and most times it does pretty good with holding temps and humidity, I keep mine in a room where the temp is constant 65 deg,,

I forgot about signing up for this hatch. Mine didn't go. My broody kept changing nests, and I found her eggs cold, then I thought they were no good so I threw them to the others, as I did I realized that they would have been alright since as soon as I dropped them they started bleeding. :( So now I gave her and another broody eggs and have a bator with 130 eggs in it due this coming week.

I have on girl so far and another one zipping! One more has pipped and then there are three have not done anything yet...not sure if they are quitters or just late bloomers. When I take the three babies out I will candle them again if there is no action.

I am so excited to have them hatch...those were expensive eggs and I was afraid it was a loss.

I will post pictures tonight when I move them to the brooder.

So distracting aren't they?

Three babies is what I got out of the four. One had died in the shell, looks like about day two during lock down, darn, it was a showgirl too.
I have one Silkie that is striving to thrive, and the two others are showgirls, and one looks to be a buff color! Yaaay! Not a white. One is white, and is the lovy one. Comes running to the hand. Cute all right.
One buff and one white show girl!!

Can you swap the shelves half way thru-- like cookie sheets in the oven!!! I found opening the incubator causes cooking and slows development.

You will have to share your secret on such a wonderfull hatch rate on shipped eggs!!!!!

:( Well this was my 2nd try at hatching 1st hatch along. I put 24 eggs in and had 5 non-fertile eggs around day 9 or so i had 3 days where the temps jumped up to 103- 104 deg i let the eggs go and started getting rings (death rings?) i still let the eggs stay in the bator and and ended up with no chicks so far dont think any will hatch i see no movement in any of the eggs and the few that has dark formations in them are small for day 17 :( guess better luck next time what would have caused this the high temp? will try again in a few days thanks for the hatch along.

It even got my eggs i put in on 6-3 which their was only 9 of them.
