The fireworks are driving me NUTS!!!

Well, needless to say, while most of the town is at the local fireworks, I'll be babysitting the dogs, horses(lots of grass hay), goats, chickens, cats, etc...., but staying under cover, because of the random gunfire (and falling bullet casings)!

Drunk peopl and fireworks do NOT mix.

Ya they do, shoulda seen when Uncle Elmer burned half his beard off!

I've been so pissy about the fireworks...then I read this and literally burst out laughing. My husband asked me why. I read this to him and he started laughing too.

That pesky raccoon's been at the back door already. 2am is approaching....<veg>

Fireworks are illegal here. We haven't had rain for a month. Nothing but dry grass everywhere. The town just had a fantastic fireworks display within walking distance, and they shot them off over the water. Now my neighbors are shooting off tons of firecrackers in the streets. It seems worse this year than ever before. I don't understand the need to do this.

My cats were freaking out, but have found a jacket to hide in.

That has calmed them down. But they have their eyes wide open with every crack. I have no idea if the chickens are upset. At least they are locked in their coop. I'm ready for July 5th.

Fireworks are illegal in Maryland too. They sell them (the full size ones) but only to out of state residents. PA has the same laws. We are 15 mins to the PA line and there is a store just across the state line. So everyone from MD goes to PA to buy them and PA residents come to MD. It's a joke. Too many going off for law enforcement to enforce the laws. They need to find a way to stop selling them. In all states.

Well all is quiet here now and I just did my final look for potential fires outside. Hopefully there are no embers smoldering in a pile of leaves.
