The size sure was a shock given the size of the other girls first eggs

Our first breakfast with eggs from Mary and Chip, our old english game bantam. Looks like the rooster got to Mary before he went away. But they were still ok to eat. Very fresh tasting!


Mary's eggs that were almost normal size had double yolks.

First egg in the coop. Not sure which girl, but we left them in a few extra hours, and lo and behold. Five months to the day after they were hatched. Plus, Our unexpected roo found his voice yesterday.

She laid again today but a smaller pullet egg and one of the light brahmas surprised us laying, i read they lay later at seven months

It's a little weird to me since I know they're fertile. But I try to block it out. For sure the ones from Chip that I ate without distraction were quite good!
