THE FIRST EGG MY CHICKENS LAID

I see people post questions about when their hens should start laying. I think it would be nice if we share the first egg, the kind of chicken and the age. With pictures if we would like.

I got my first egg today from my Blue Cochin large breed. She is 22 weeks and 4 days old. It was a small egg because it was her first one. I am so excited! : ) Here is a picture of it.

I was concerned that mine might be a breed that waited a year to lay eggs. But this one laid me an egg. You will be so excited WantabeFarmer5 when you do get your first egg. I hope it will be soon. : )
