I walked up to the coop just a few minutes ago to check on my chickens. Everything was fine and they were all outside. When I went inside the coop I noticed an egg on the ground that looked like a fake egg. I had put 3 fake eggs in our three nesting boxes, because none of our chickens had laid yet, and they didn't know where to lay. I looked over that egg thinking it was a fake they had moved, and checked the nesting boxes for any eggs and noticed that there was three eggs in the nesting boxes(all fake ones) and one on the ground. I picked up the one on the ground and it felt like a real egg! It was! I am so excited! I cant wait to eat it! Here it is...

Wow, that's exciting-- congratulations! I am eagerly anticipating my first egg. What kind of chickens do you have and how old are they? I've got an orphington, barred rock, and amaerucana, all 18 weeks old.
