I strted with 6 day old Black Sex Link chicks, a few days before Easter. I lost one a couple weeks ago due to a racoon. I replaced her with a brown Aracauna. I've been getting one egg almost daily from teh Aracauna and one brown egg almost daily for a week or so.
A few days ago a friend of mine informed me that he was no longer going to keep chickens after several years of doing so. I agreed to take 6 or his 10 hens. I found a good home for the others.
So, my flock is about to double! The hens Im getign are all reportedly good bords that lay daily, consistently, and are a year old. The are mostly RIR hens.
Then yesterday, I found 5 eggs in the coop! Today I found 5 again!
Once I finish a few updates on teh coop, I will be gettign the others and bringing them home!
