~The Forests of Avalon, A Dragon Roleplay~ 2

Otulissa flinched as his claws tore several cuts along her legs and shoulders, and she quickly stepped back. As she watched Alistar convulse and spasm, a dark smirk spread across her face as her eyes darkened. Her venom was loaded with neurotoxins, and once they were spread throughout his body, it would only take a few hours for him to go into a coma. After he went into a coma, he would be beyond the point of receiving the hyacinth, and would almost surely die.

(I hope the venom's effects are okay, if not I can change it, I don't want to interfere with any plans you have.)
(No it's fine, I don't think I have a rule up yet that limits the power of venom that dragons can have, so as long as you don't start trying to kill everyone with just that, then you can keep it. For now though, I'll just say that only she can have it. Just so that not every single dragon has it too, that wouldn't be any fun.

Alistair thrashed violently across the ground, his body unintentionally convulsing and spasming as the venom spread throughout his body. He was unaware of anything going on around him, not the battle or Otulissa, the only thing he could feel or sense was the pain spreading throughout his veins. It felt like fire burning him from the inside out, and no matter what he did to try and stop it, it only got worse.

Suddenly, a rush of air beat down on Otulissa's back as Amatis descended from the sky. She had led the second attack party into the battle, and after noticing Alistair, had come to prevent any further harm. But the scene that greeted her was not what she expecting, a poison this strong was rare, and for a dragon to harness its strength as a venom was even rarer. It wasn't something she had ever seen before. Because of the surprising circumstances, Amatis didn't attack right away and landed swiftly beside her friend with Arrow at her side. She looked over the dying dragon quickly, but could not wake him. "What have you done?" She snarled at Otulissa, her teeth bared angrily. Without waiting for her to reply, she instructed Arrow to crouch down and began to gently lift the wounded dragon onto his back so that he could be transported to Kyra for treatment.

As the tree branches whipped at her face, body and outstretched arms, it was all Frill could do to keep her wings unfurled enough to slow her landing to a reasonably safe speed. Although that thought died quickly... She folded her wings and dropped like a rock, the sprawled form of Maggie and her target Jasper below. Their last meeting's scenario was playing out again, but instead of her being the rabbit it was him, and she fell on him like a sack of potatoes... Butt kickin' potatoes.

____

Silv's brow was raised in amusement as he watched the two of them rise from their rather crumpled landing.

__

Volund, dripping wet with the blood of his meal, raised his head. What was he hearing?
It was echoing from the other side of the mountain, roaring.. But not the usual yowls. Something was up, and taking off towards the noise, he planned on finding out.

(Kickin' potatoes eh? That's a first! lol)

Jasper stumbled sideways when she hit his back, taken off guard as he hadn't been expecting someone else to have come down on top of him like he had to Maggie. He cursed loudly when he was forced to take a step with his injured foot, but didn't fall down completely. What in the blazes is this?! In order to stop her kicking, and save some of the scales on his back, he suddenly slapped both his wings up together and sandwiched Frill between them like a piece of cheese. He twisted his head backwards to peer at his attacker, and his cold blue eyes widened in surprise at the sight of her.

Maggie still wasn't quite 'with it' and she continued to lose her balance each time she tried to stand on her own. Slowly but surely, she made her way across the small clearing trampled by the falling dragons, falling and staggering, until she nearly collapsed into Silv.

Adeline worked her way along the edges of the clearing, through the trees until she stood by Silv's side, and prodded the unconcious dragoness. "We should get out of here..." She hissed urgently in Silv's ear. She wasn't sure if Maggie would recognise her, but she couldn't take the chance of her mentioning to Camilla that she had spotted Adeline siding with the enemy, and Camilla assuming she had somehow turned on Pelendava. It was opening a bucket of worms that was much better left for another day...

Otulissa snarled back with a smirk. "What do you think?" She lifted her lips even more, revealing the slightly large fangs that contained her venom. Her claws dug into the ground as she prepared for an attack from Amatis, and her wings were extended in a threatening stance. It seemed to be a mix between a defensive and attacking stance.

Camilla snarled furiously and spread her wings quickly to fly while twisting violently to try and prevent Tisep from getting a good hold on her neck. Once in the air, away from Finny she rolled sharply upside down and shook her entire body in attempted to dislodge her attacker. In the meantime, the second battle patrol had finally arrived. Mayella came screeching into the ground and bowled into Finny without wasting time on a fancy battle move. It wasn't pretty, but it got the Caronian warrior's attention off Camilla.

Finny grunted as her body slammed into the ground, having the wind knocked out of her but quickly recovered as she rolled back to her feet. She whirled around and arched her back at Mayella, her lips curled back in a deadly snarl and her wings extended.

Tisep went flying into a rock, and let out a cry of pain as she felt her head slam into a rock. She tried to shake the stars out of her eyes but found that it hurt to move her head. She decided to take another route of attack, knowing that she wouldn't get far with this as she was a fairly inexperienced warrior. "That all you got, all powerful Queen of Pelendava?" She taunted, grinning through a chipped tooth and blinking through the blood that dribbled into her eyes. "Y'know, I just became a warrior two moons ago. Are you so old that you can only fight new warriors and learners?

Tanis broke the surface coughing and sputtering about a quarter of the way around the lake from where Droll was standing. Her legs and wings slapped clumsily at the surface of the water as she fought to keep herself afloat. I hate getting wet! I hate water! She cursed in her head, while awkwardly making her way to the shore. It was rather obvious that she was not only a terrible swimmer, but wasn't fond of it either. Once she was able to stand, she vomited up a mouthful of river water and spat it onto the bank, still coughing in order to clear her lungs.

A deep, menacing laugh came from near the spot where she had hit, then stopped as Droll quickly moved into the forest to hide his movements. He approached where Tanis was gagging, preparing for another sneak attack.

(It is night, isn't it?)

(In between, they attacked right at dawn so right about now it'd be getting lighter and light, but still a bit dim.)

After several minutes of hacking up mouthfuls of water, coughing and sputtering, Tanis was finally able to take a much needed, deep breath. She shook the water off her wings and scales and scanned the shore, looking for Droll. When she couldn't see him anymore, she took a few steps back towards the water as she assumed he wouldn't be coming from that direction. And even if he did, she would be able to hear him swimming before he could get close. From her position she had a fairly good view of the forest surrounding the lake, and though the air was no means silent, she would be able to hear him if he suddenly started running.

Amatis's eyes narrowed dangerously when Otulissa revealed her fangs, and although she wanted nothing more then to rip her throat out, Alistair needed help desperately and that needed to be her priority. She looked away from Otulissa again and finished placing Alistair on Arrow's back. The learner was big and strong for his age, but Alistair was not a small warrior by any means and he would have to make the journey on foot. "Go quickly," she hissed to him. "Stop for nothing, he needs attention now. Do you understand?"

Arrow nodded without giving a snarky comment in return as he once might have, the seriousness in Amatis's voice couldn't be ignored. He looked over once at Otulissa, his eyes cold and unfriendly, and tore off through the trees on foot.

Mayella echoed Finny's snarl and matched her aggressive stance to the T. For a second she simply stared her down, not moving a muscle. Finally, she took a step to the right, then another, to see if Finny would follow.

Camilla landed lightly in front of Tisep, she had a few wounds across her body, but none serious enough to make her look as battered as Tisep did. She felt a small wave of compassion for the young dragoness, and tried to force it down. This obviously wasn't the time to feel sorry for the enemy, but she was kind at heart and didn't want to end up killing her. "For such a young warrior, you pack a pretty good punch." She said, eying Tisep with a curious, but guarded expression.

About 100 yards in front of her, in the darkness under the trees, two visibly glowing pairs of blood-red eyes watched Tanis for a moment, then suddenly disappeared. "I see you're still alive..." came the voice. It was deep and menacing, and instilled a dose of fear, partly because it echoed in the forest and seemed like it came from everywhere at once. Droll had trained himself to be able to throw his voice just so he could trick and scare others better. "...good. It's not as much fun when they die too quickly..." He laughed again, just to try and freak Tanis out that much more. He began to quietly pick up decently-sized rocks one at a time, then throw them in various different directions. When they hit the ground, the sounds made it seem like he was nearly everywhere at once.

Tanis took a second step backwards towards the water, and felt her heartbeat increase slightly when her claws touched the water. She had nowhere to go, besides either facing him or trying to swim...she wasn't sure which was worse. He was bigger and stronger then her, she knew it... and she knew he knew it too. Was this what real battle was like? She didn't even know. Her head swung around nervously, trying to spot him in the brightening, but still dim light. A rock landed not far from her in the water with a loud splash and she jumped, then chided herself under her breath, keep it together Tanis! What are you? A chicken!?
