~The Forests of Avalon, A Dragon Roleplay~

Christina deposited the otter on the ledge and left as soon as she could. If he wanted it, he'd find it. Not that she cared either way.

As Jester was descending, he spotted a much smaller shape a ways below him. He squinted, but recognised her quickly. Unable to believe his luck, he leveled off and followed silently, simply watching her from above and taking in all that he could, not knowing if he would see her again or not.

Silv was well past that grey stone outcropping, on the border and headed forward.
His face cracked in a wicked smile as the emerald trees peaked on the horizon. It eased his heart so, that was until the smell of dragon soiled it.
He was nearing Avalon, no doubt.
Ditching the cloud cover, which was now doing him no good, he dove for the earth. And with wings pinned to his sides he fell like an arrow from the sky, pulling up inches from the ground; wrapping his taloned hands around the girth of a large tree. Bark skittered and whirled past his face, his body rigid as the gale of his landing sent twigs and floor litter into the air. And then he took off, through the trees like a squirrel, dancing in a mad rush of silent color.

Flicking her tail, Frill began to descend back towards the ground, Pelendava was approaching fast.
She teetered a bit, letting the wind flutter around her wings and tail. Maybe they were accepting new warriors, she pondered, it would be something to do.
Although she really didn't like patrolling... Or hunting, really.. She wasn't sure if she could kill, or even injure, another dragon. Maybe not a warrior then. She swiveled a bit again, watching the tree tops.
She noticed a shadow then, playing across the greenscape below. It looked like a birds', small and blurry. She smiled and turned up, food, birds were always good.

Quite a ways from the protection of Pelendava, Charlotte and Henry remained in the forest, finishing up some work with the lastet crop of herbs. A small, half eaten deer lay between them as she shared it slowly, enjoying the peace and quiet of being away from the bustling city. Above them, small birds flitted around the trees, hopping from branch to branch as they waited for the dragons to leave so they could get their share.

Jester stared down, he knew she had seen him, but he didn't think she had recognised him. He hoped not, as he didn't think she wanted to eat him. Chuckling lightly, he realized that she was thinking and slowed down, falling back into the cloud bank that he had been leaving. Without waiting, he let himself drop, angling his wings to the forest below.

"Well it took you long enough, we thought you had gotten lost." She chuckled lightly, nudging the dragon beside her. "Saphira, this is Samuel. Samuel, this is Saphira, the dragoness I was telling you about earlier."

Samuel studied her with a warm face "Nice to finally meet you, Saphira."

He could taste them on the air long before they came into view. Unlike the majority of dragons, he hunted from the ground not the air, and he was built specifically for that task.
His wings folded neatly against his sides, ears splayed out and eyes caught the slightest movement. Charlotte was first, and he almost gave away his position in excitement.
Ah, how sweet was the thrill of the hunt was to him. He placed his steps carefully, inching along close against the greenery. He had to stop, however, as Henry lumbered into view.
Gah! Shoo off.... , he hissed in his mind, keeping still as an oak. Henry didn't look so much like prey as he did a large obstacle... With teeth....

Frill was about to launch herself upwards when the creature came billowing down, "*Insert dragon curses*"
She hissed and rolled in surprise, it was a dragon, far too large to be anything else. "Gah! You----".... she yelled, stopping mid sentence.

Henry and Charlotte shared a few words, their voices distinctively different. Henry's was much deeper and louder, while Charlotte's was soft, gentle and higher pitched. Henry dropped a pile of herbs at Charlotte's feet and she wrapped them carefully in a leaf to protect them. "Is that it?"

Henry nodded "Theres one more by the Maple I think, but Ruth grabbed the rest."

"Okay, I'll grab the then. Meet you make in Pelendava?" She raised her head, the soft scales covering her body rippling freely as she moved. Unlike a warrior, her scales were not hard and thick, they were much thinner and provided less protection but allowed her to move more freely without as much effort.

"I'll wait." He offered "You never know what lurks in the forest after dark."

"Suit yourself." Her thin wings, not so different then Christina's, billowed in the light breeze as she stretched them. For a moment colored, spidery veins could be seen through the thin membrane stretching across the bones as she dying sun shone through. She turned away from Henry and tucked her wings back against her sides as she headed into the forest, hiding the veins once more from view. Her movements were smooth and graceful, and her scales were almost translucent, like you could see through them and into her body. The slight pulse of a vein, the rippling or twitch of a muscle etc. Not even Christina looked so... delicate, or fragile. In comparison, the servent seemed very rough looking.

******

Jester landed quickly, his heavy weight causing him to drop like a rock when his wings were no longer providing lift. He slowed himself at the last minute, but still landed rather hard with his feet planted on either side of her, trapping her in between them. He straightened up and extended his wings halfway, peering down at her with an amused expression. "Thats some pretty foul language for such an innocent dragoness." He said mockingly, with a sly grin.
