After the announcement to the citizens Camilla entered the High Guard's council chambers for the meeting there. She wasn't a big fan of the political end of being a queen, the endless meetings to discuss rules over and over again and the exhausted state it left her in, but it was necessary and Stephan certainly wasn't going to do it. Amatis, Samuel and Stephan were there already but Dreadnought and Kyra were still missing, with a pang of sadness she spotted the empty seat next to Samuel were Henry used to sit. They would have to vote a new member in today as well, she had nearly forgotten about that.

"Does anyone know where Dreadnought and Kyra are?" Camilla asked, taking her spot at the head of the room beside Stephan.

Dread walked in at that moment. He had heard the summons, but wasn't entirely sure what the meeting was about.
He had spent the majority of the afternoon on the other side of Avalon, searching for the new dragoness he had greeted earlier, completely unaware of Henry's death and Charlotte.

"Dreadnought." Camilla greeted him wearily, looking rather tired. "Have you seen Kyra?"

"Right here!" A young dragoness called, coming in just a half a second after Dread. "Sorry I'm late, I was just dropping off some herbs at Ester's place."

"How is she?" Samuel asked, tipping his head questioningly to the side.

"Better, but she hasn't woken up yet."

 

[Gerbil]

Dread was about to shake his head in answer to her question as Kyra appeared.
"What is going on?" he asked quietly, after the two had spoken.

Camilla glanced at him in surprise, assuming that everyone knew already. Kyra lowered her eyes and slipped around him to take her place in the chamber and everybody else seemed to be avoiding Dread's eye. "Earlier this evening Henry and Charlotte were reported missing after having not returned from the fields. A search party was sent out and Henry was found to be dead, mutilated by another dragon." She knew she was being blunt, but Dream was a tough character and she knew he would appreciate being told the truth as it was and not lied to like a hatchling. "Charlotte was injured but alive.. she is recovering at Ester's place."

 

[Gerbil]

(There ya go again. Renaming my characters. Pfffft. Dream. Or maybe.... )

Dread grimaced as he learned of Henry's demise.
He had seen him regularly enough, and knew he had a family. He couldn't help but glance at the empty chair as he replied, "Ah, man. Caronia?"

Camilla nodded "I believe so. When Charlotte wakes up I'm hoping she can give us an idea of what the attacker looked like so that we can deliver justice." Her voice hardened at the end. "This kind of threat will not go unanswered."
