With the predators you have, I would leave him fully armed. Sadly he may need them some day.Oh yeah, he isn't very fond of me lolhe never bothers the kids (still don't trust him with them) he adores my husband, but me and him have had our ways. He honestly HAS gotten better, now he is older and the testosterone isn't so intense
He is fantastic in every other way, great with chicks, young chickens, and protective of his flock. He is even pretty forgiving with added roosters too.
I do trim them now and then. But I try to leave him have them for protection from predators! I do however worry that they will bother him or the hens. When it comes to that, Ill have my husband remove his spurs.
