The Front Porch Swing

Sad about the boys. Boys are just a PITA in my house lately. I live with too many boys to deal with little Roos too. We have some chicks and the whiniest are the little Roos. The hubby and kid are fighting nonstop so kinda sick of boys right now.

Speaking of boys the bitty sereama boys are doing well. They could ship now bit I want to let the po get used to the new system and stop killing stuff before I pit then in a box.

They are insanely cute!!

Well we processed 4 boys through to freezer camp today about 8 more this week and in 3 weeks about 6 more then the lazy hens are going to freezer camp.
Last December we received 6 Bantam Choco Orp eggs from GFF so while they were growing out Tiffany decided she wanted chocolates for Valentines Day so we bought a trio of unrelated breeders from GFF and it was a good thing 5 of 6 eggs hatched one died and the other four were Cockerels.

but for some reason, Bantam Choc orp boys are okay

Alex has a tiny bantam Cochin that he got from papa brooder. He adores that little ball of fluff. Still haven't named him, but he's thinking. Anyway the little thing made the most silly noise in an attempt to crow the other day. It had us in stitches and when he would attempt again and again I almost peed myself. I tried calling him Sir croaksalot, but Alex was not going for it.

that should be my bantam black Orpington boys name! such a sad attempt at crowing!

Nothing can be funnier than an 8 week old OEGB trying desperately to figure out his "big" boy voice. Even an adult OEGB is high pitched and squeaky. An 8 week old sounds like a cross between a squeaky screen door and a peeper frog.

Hello everyone!!

Been one crazy summer here, I"m still trying to remember what happened to it, lol =)

Hi Heather and Rachael =) YAY for all the new egg layers and How has everyone's summer been??

Tell me about the new system that the PO has? Have lots of you been getting dead chicks? yikes!!

My CCL's from CJ are really looking nice, as well as my Wheaten Marans, getting excited for hatching season next year!!

Garden is getting tired, and we're canning applesauce next week, yum.. Will blanch and freeze the tomatoes and do them when it's cold outside...

Can't believe school starts in 2 weeks, ACK!!
