The Front Porch Swing

Quote: This one is just fine since she was caught in time. I just know to be a lot more cautious with her now.

That bunny is a picture I found on Google, our baby is only a week old but it looks just like it. The parents both have a lot more black spots all over.

And I also am pretty sure I found the reason my Black Bresse died! His hen has mites, so I am pretty sure that is what caused his death. I thought I had checked them when I got them, but may have forgotten. I will be treating everyone again tomorrow. At least it is something simple to take care of-I treated them all last fall and haven't seen any since, so I start to forget to check as frequently. Everything else looks pretty good, but I will treat them all again to be sure.

pysankigirl, I just started reading on here - the porch picture was so inviting. Knew Booga was a Leonberger as soon as I laid eyes on him. Years ago there was a short lived tv series called EMPTY NEST with Richard Mulligan and his Leonberger -Drefus. I later saw Drefus in person- er dog, at the International Kennel Club dog show in Chicago. Didn't pay for a pawtographed picture but, took several of my own while he was lounging around with his handler. He was a magnificent animal.

With everything you have going on right now, you can't blame yourself for not catching it. At least you will now be able to treat the hen. :hugs

Good morning. Having to wring out over this way. I think I've had about enough gullywashers for one year. Wish this rain would spread out to, say, a good overnight shower once a week all year long. But....it's better than a drought. And a whole lot better than facing hurricanes or tornadoes. Guess I'll quit whining and head to the job I'm grateful to have.

yeah...we are waiting to wring out until it stops.

just re-iterates the fact that I need to get these chicks out to their final acomodations this weekend. I have been putting them in an x-pen in the front yard during the day but not really a good idea at the moment, so they are stuck inside all day and are going to make such a mess! they are old enough that they have really started putting out some poop.

but yes, thrilled to have a job here, too!!!

MUCH prefer the copious rain to drought, for sure! Plus, when it's raining, I actually get some housework done. Not the floors, though. Not with four big beasts tracking in and out. My floors are pathetic.

They are the best dogs ever!!! except for the amount of dirt they drag into the house and the short lifespans. but every time we try to get a different dog breed we end up regrettign it.

Quote: I will be picking up Frontline today to treat everyone. Maggie needs it too. I put one drop on each bird last fall and the mites were gone immediately. I also lost NO birds from it. I used Ivomec on some of the birds and lost several from that. I tried DE and dusting everything several times before that, and the mites never went away. I was pretty impressed with the results from the Frontline.

Good morning everyone!
