Paid off feels good, doesn't it?

Oh my goodness, amazing! I could buy a car with that payment! If we actually needed one, LOL! Instead it will go to fencing the property to get things ready for Valentine (my horse) to move here in April.

I've got tomatoes and peppers started. Probably too early, but I dont care

We had a gorgeous weekend, temps in high 60s, and now it's struggling to make it into the 40s. By Friday that'll be even lower

Where are you at in MI? I'm in Lower Michigan - west side of the State near Lake MI and we have lots of snow for sure!!!

Question about de-worming chickens. After my rooster died, I de-wormed all my hens (they are 9 mo old). Now I have a new rooster who hasn't been de-wormed. How often do I need to de-worm them & can I de-worm the hens again so the new rooster gets de-wormed too?

Why can't you just deworm the Rooster. If you deworm too much your hens will build up a resistance to the wormer. Also, I wouldn't worm the Rooster unless you know he has worms. dawg57 is my go to person on here for any and all worm information. Last year I had some worm issues and dawg57 was more informative and helpful than my vet or local feed store. Maybe send him your worming question. He is amazing!

I hardly ever worm, they did eat a ton of jack-o-lanterns all through the winter. Flushes 'em out

I'm a nut, if a bird poops nearby I always take a peek to make sure nothing wriggly is going on. You can't see all parasites, but you generally know if something is amiss. All birds carry SOME worms and parasites, it's no squeaky clean operating room in there, it's a poop shute, the problems start when there's too many. Healthy diet keeps things in check. Garlic, pumpkin, red pepper flakes, oregano oil, cinnamon, probiotics.. all good stuff to keep them in good health.

cool! Hubs is doing the opposite and trying to convince me we need a 2000 International 4700 4 dr truck to haul auto parts cross country. Ugh, I do NOT want another loan.

Oh doesn't that sound familiar. I need a tractor. I need a bush hog. I need a disc. I need a landscape rake. The latest, last night, was I need a backhoe for the tractor. LOL! We've spent more in implements than we did on our first car!!

@Alice28 I am so sorry you are having to deal with this!

I wonder if the old guy has dementia or something. I hope everything works out OK.
Nasty neighbors can really be hard to deal with.

I would guess they both do.

Yes, the fence fell into our yard. The cops pretty much told them they are insane and if the fence falls on a kid (in our yard) we can sue them and if they try to take down the new fence then that's vandalism and we can press charges. I was inside with my son and my husband was out with the cops and the cops were like "what's your problem, they are doing everything and building you a new fence!" Then told my husband "build the fence". So crazy! Then she wa saying to the cops how "it was a good neighborhood until we moved in" and the cop turned to my husband and just said "Yah, forget she said that". They are just horrible nasty people! I don't know why you would complain about someone fixing, for free, a rotten fence that has fallen down! So crazy! So next weekend were fixing it!

Do you have survey markers? If not, you might want to get the lot surveyed. Typically, a fence on the boundary belongs to both parties and both are equally responsible for upkeep and replacement when necessary.

Who put up the original fence? Who's land is it on? Is it exactly on the property line? At least where I come from, the home owner is within his rights to harvest any fruit from a neighbor's tree, on the branches that cross the property line. It seems that it'd be the same situation regarding a fence that has fallen over onto your property line. Give the neighbors time to get it off your property, if they don't you're within your rights to remove it. I'm guessing that dementia or some other mental illness is involved here. That does not negate the fact that you have a safety issue here now. I wish you the best with this situation.

You might want to check that. In a lot of states, the fruit belongs to the tree owner even if it is on a branch over your property or drops on your property. The leaves belong to the owner of the yard they fall in.

No more often than you know they have worms. Take a sample to the vet and they can check for eggs (you might want to call first).

I appreciate your response -- I was told to deworm the chickens after the 1st rooster died since I have no clue what he died from! He is going to the vet tomorrow to have wings clipped & spurs trimmed down so maybe he'll be good and leave a 'present' in the box for me as well - that way they can check him. I can't feed him separately since they all eat from the same feeder and the dewormer gets added to their food.

I was told to deworm them every fall to fend off anything they ate while roaming the yard -- is this true they need to be dewomer yearly? I'm also giving them electrolytes in their water - was told it just helps keep them healthy and they seem to add the little bit of powdered stuff that goes in their water -- just can't hurt them I would think.
