Hey TW ... I think it is hard to go wrong with cream cheese. I've been craving cream cheese frosting so much I've been contemplating putting some greek yogurt in the blender with powdered sugar and then pretending.
Leslie, you know what is really really good...? Cream cheese and Nutella on toast! Ohhhh my goodness!
Eggs are all going okay. We seem to be selling enough eggs that I can usually fit more into the fridge. I finally got the feed mill I want to work with to create a "local" feed on the phone, and we're discussing various philosophies of getting a good, flexible, multi-flock product created for us so I can maybe put some "buzz words" on our eggs to attract more of the local food buyers. The flock is really enjoying some more freedom ... I let them out super early this morning, and they weren't sure what to do with themselves. There is poop everywhere around the house now that we're free-ranging.
Awww that's just free fertilizer. lol Last year wild rabbits pooped all over our front yard and I hope they do it again this year. It looked like it had been raining raisins. I bet a "local" feed would go over well with several folks. I believe I am going to get with the guy at my feedmill on a gamebird feed.
Yesterday I put some more eggs under some more broodies, so I've got fingers crossed that they are staying put ... I think I'm going to go take some photos of the pancake hens ... and you guys can guess how many eggs are under each one.
Can't wait to see the pics!
It is GORGEOUS here today ... my First Favorite Tree is in full bloom ... not dropping petals yet. I'm sure there will be more photos of that, too. And soon my Second Favorite Tree will start to bloom. I bet you can hardly wait for that.
That tree is beautiful! I have bradford pears, March flowers, crocus and a yellow bush bloomed out. Looks like spring but it's still cool out BUT warm days are coming.
I've got plenty of food in the fridge that I don't even have to cook today. I've got a HUGE turkey in brine in a ginormous cooler on the back deck, but it is not defrosting very quickly. I tried to pull some ice chunks out of the body cavity, and in about 2 seconds my hands were screaming from the cold. I took the dog on a walk instead of dealing with that. If it ever defrosts, there will be turkey dinner for everyone at my house ... 40 lbs of turkey means everyone can all bring your dogs, too.

I only have a back porch. It has a view of the mountains and the chicken coop. BYOBuckets.
