The Front Porch Swing

I  have beans, I have ham.   But I'm just too tired to cook them.   Gardening.   Take out from Wendy's  for sure.    :lau    At the rate I'm doing on the garden I calculate that it will be mid July before I have it all planted.  Seriously.   :gig

I might have settled on a bowl of cereal if mom hadn't requested white beans and cornbread. LOL

That's pretty big! Hope you can get it done soon! We're going to start planting stuff in our garden soon, but I don't think it's quite warm enough yet :)

I'm really not in a hurry. It's hot in the summer but spring and fall and even winter I can grow stuff. Zone 8b

It's about 20' x 60'.   But I'm doing like 15 min at a time.     :lau    Yesterday I planted 6' of scarlet beans and today  I transplanted a few strawberries.  I lost a LOT of stuff over the winter.  I did find that I have 3 fig trees in containers that need to be set out.  My 10 comfrey plants need to be replanted 3' apart.  They are going to be great for compost and  added protein for my babies.  I need to get a load of dirt whenever.  Won't be this month.  Broke after buying AC and installing it to store house.

That's a good sized garden. You'll be rollin' in the veggies. Great! I can't wait for some homegrown tomatoes - bacon and tomato sandwiches w/ mayo... ahhh the answer to world peace!

Tonight for dinner I made tomato and Avocado sandwiches..... Grandma and I scarfed them down.

The Hass avocados in the store were HUGE and dead ripe....

One of the few things I miss about living in CA is the produce. Avocados, lemons , Limons and the Ethnic markets and food. I have to make a 100 mile round trip to get oriental & Greek ingredients and am pretty much limited to what Wal-Mart carries for Mexican. I cook a lot of Greek and Oriental food and really miss being able to go a few miles to get the authentic stuff. I love the people here in the Appalachians of Ohio, the rolling terrain, and never knowing what your weather will be tomorrow. It keeps you on your toes. Avocado and tomato sandwiches with bacon. Yum!

How is your goat? I am sorry if I missed that post.

For dinner I had baked chicken breast, cooked it over green onions and red peppers, then I made baked broccoli with mushrooms and peppers, served with a side of rice and side of avocado.

For those that love broccoli but want something other than steamed, bake it! I bake all my veggies that I used to steam, brings out soooooo much more flavor. I just throw them in a bag with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper then pop in the oven, soooooooo good!!!
