Of course there are people that need food, clothes, etc. But when I give money I want it to go first and foremost towards saving souls. You can feed everybody in the world but if they don't meet the Savior they are d*mn*d in the end anyway.

Then give it to a church that works in the area.

Thanks we had a blast! I was able to get my husband to only work a half day today so we could do something as a family. My son wanted the beach, but was just as happy with the river. Plus both are only a few minutes away.

welcome to BYC. I haven't seen any chicks at the feed stores. All of them are from Ideal hatchery. You should check in on the Texas thread though to see what comes up. I went with hatching eggs from a breeder. There is a show in January in College Station where you can find folks with many breeds represented

After the discussions of Lybia, Egypt, Sudan, Iran...  I decided to reacquaint myself with the locations of these countries.

Not only WOW was i Wrong on them...  but profoundly wrong on where Lybia is...

I have issues with donating to world organizations.... Especially when the country is so much in upheaval the food donatations get grabbed by warlords and sold to the highest bidder. The only way to help would be to intervene.... then there is that whole war issue.

I also worry about the dos and do nots. Most of us have zero clue how to take care of ourselves without air conditioning and microwaves and google.

Lol I can take care of myself without Google and a microwave, as long as my range is gas. But air conditioning...gotta have in Houston!

Deb, I use to give mine to churches in my area but I stopped because they wasted it. 100% of mine goes to a ministry in Pakistan.

Have you tried posting on the Texas thread? They have a wealth of info. Also, check Craig's list. There's also google!! Just google the kind you are wishing for and type it in. Make you put in your area as well.
