The Front Porch Swing

I need to catch up on this thread!! But first I need help. Got chicken livers at the store yesterday because my husband loves liver. But I have never cooked liver in my life, what's the best way to cook it??

they cook quick so dont walk away. I like mine just a teeny little bit pink in the middle. Not cooked dead an flat. So if you push down on them they will give just a little not be completely firm.

I like them floured and fried. Don't get the grease too hot or they will be hard and not good at all. Then you can use the grease and make some gravy. Once you take the livers up put about a tablespoon of flour in the skillet, stir real well (scraping up all the crumbs and good stuff) brown it just a tad bit then add milk and stir some more to get the gravy as thick of thin as you want.

...no wonder I'm fa... so plump! LOL

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!! I'll be sure and let you know how they turned out. :)

Prayers to all who need them, especially Bruce....hope you get better soon!

Wrap em in bacon and bake 'em.

My chickens have been out in this rain and ice foraging all day long like their very lives depended upon it...right alongside the crows, robins and squirrels. Something is mighty tasty out there guys and my chooks are tanking up on it, no matter the weather. Whatever it is they were out after it yesterday too, turned up every leaf on 3 acres of meadow to find it and I got 6 eggs this morning, up from 3, so I hope they keep on eatin' it.

Thank you all for the prayers....I love having so many wonderful, helpful people to depend on in a pinch. The prayers are working!

That kind of makes me nervous for you. You know how animals and wildlife are all great weather forecasters! I hope it doesn't turn really nasty in the weather department but it seems that animals can sense it coming and they harvest and gobble it all up as fast as they can because in a day or two they end up hunkering down to wait it out.

Isn't it wonderful having friends that hear and pay attention to your needs? I'm glad the prayers are helping. Will keep it up.

That's what Mom said...something is coming! I said...yeah, spring! Those robins are pulling the worms out like candy! Please don't be nervous for us...God has provided for us so completely in all ways that we are snug as bugs in a rug in all weathers. I just now opened a couple of jars of cheap meat roosters to make a big ol' pot of soup!

It IS wonderful for friends who so readily pray for you! I was just thanking God for you all and also lifting you all up in prayer as well. I think now, in this time in the world, we can all help one another at a distance by praying for one another whenever we think of it. I don't have a church or close circle of friends to pray for me except you folks, so it's a comfort indeed that God has given me you wonderful people to turn to when I need prayer. It's quite humbling.
