The Front Porch Swing

So glad you came!!!  :hugs   Pull up a chair and tell us your stories!  I feel the same way....God has been blessing me and the land all year long and I think this spring will be no different...planning a great garden!  :weee

:hugs I've got a couple stories to tell, hehe! Gardening is new to me, so I'm basing most of my planning on my research, Mom's ability to just plant something without a doubt that it will grow, and my own belief that if there's a will, there's a way.

Now I wish this cold spell would pass. Yesterday it was in the high 80s down here in South Texas and now it's in the 30s. :( I can't wait for Mother Nature to come take over for Jack Frost. He's just been a bit too social this year.

Welcome to the porch I am having COFFEE this morning because I was UP LATE..... LOL.

I had a boss once who always said....  If your Green your growing, If you're Ripe you Rot..  There is always something to learn.... as long as you are open to it.

Haha, you enjoy that coffee! Had to wake up early to make Mama some coffee and then I snuggled back in my blankets, dreading the moment I'd have to go outside. I can't stand the stuff, but I've always been more if a tea drinker myself.

I'd probably not like being ripe. Being ripe would essentially mean I've gotten to the top of the hill and the only way to go is down. Besides, green is my favorite color! :lau

Quote: I have always shared the bed with the dog's. I usually have one at a time. Started with my Boston Terrier named Kitty. My very first puppy to raise by myself. She slept in the small of my back under the covers. When shed move around and wake me up I would take her outside to do her business. Then back to bed. I NEVER had an accident in the house. And She never cried at night...

My Aussie cross "Barbara Anne Strieshound" Annie for short. I called her that because the had a long nose Eye liner and was very very sweet and smart. Was an older pup she only slept with me for a while till I was sure she was potty trained. After that she chose to sleep on top of the covers occasionally. She preferred the cooler spot on the floor. Annie had her own entourage.... I would go to a horse show in another city and people I could swear i never met would say HI Annie and give her a pet.

The Greyhound thought the bed was interesting..... hed hop up if I asked him... make a nest watch tv with me for a while then hed get down because the floor was cooler. He was three when i got him.

My latest girl Rosie slept with me on occasion too. but prefered the floor and her own bed too. She was two.

But I will NOT allow cats in my room. They dont sleep at night they patrol or play or run relay races up and down the hall or reach under the door if locked out and play with the door bumper.... OR stand on the pillow and look down at my face..... Or Poke my face with their paws.

I finally sold my two big, fluffy roosters! :weee

I loved the look of surprise on the woman's face when she saw how big they were. Apparently, she's never seen Cochins that size either, haha! Now, I only have one more rooster to process. He's been getting mighty bold lately. All my other Roos show the proper respect, but this one has hopped in my back and will peck my hand if I go to brush him off. I'm not pleased with that at all.

Now if only I could convince Mama to let me sell our little frizzle roosters. She just loves to see them hopping through the grass, though. It's a small price to pay for the happiness it brings her.

Gust is usually too jealous to let the cats get too close at night. Kisa has a spot on the bottom left she'll defend with a stern look and an efficient smack, but Kita is more active and easier to chase away. If Gust is really snoring, the cats will both curl up against him or my butt, whichever is warmer. Gust wakes up and does a littler perimeter patrol of the bed and puts everyone back where they belong. It's a great service except he steals the covers.
