The Front Porch Swing

I hate to be a debbie downer" but this mess is amazing. Be sure to notice the occupations of the two monsters. People that turn their head and let crap like this go on deserve worse!

Yep...can't adopt or foster a pet unless you pay lots of money, have home inspections, statements from your vet, appropriate fencing and housing and promise to keep them indoors...but they'll give children to folks like this just willy nilly.

Now, a decent person would have to jump through three counties of hoops, take classes, fill out a ton of forms and be put on a waiting list for kids, but they hand them out like Chiclets to this type of person. This happens quite frequently in the hills of this state because people can make money to foster children...from the state and also from renting them for sex.

Their professions just tell me that they gravitated to that job for a reason....for the abuse of children. I'm betting they will find sexual abuse in their investigation.

If I live to be a hundred years old I'll never understand man's inhumanity towards man.

I'm willing to bet there will be more people stepping forward to "rescue" the animals in this story than there will be those trying to rescue the children.

Still working hard! It seems as though there isn't much to do today. To give myself something to do, I called a client about a business card I was working on and now he's coming by to discuss his website and two other business cards! This is the kind of work I can handle!

Let's hope the owner gets his act together and starts putting in the time to do all the stuff I can't do. I haven't learned how to screen print shirts and that's a major part of the business!

I agree, I will never ever understand it. I just can not comprehend the mind of a person that hates kids and only sees them as "something" to abuse and spend their time trying to figure out ways to do it. Can you imagime the planning it took to do all that these people did? -4 adopted kids and one forster kid- HOW did they "collect" all those poor kids and not be figured out? The kids must have went to school and if they didn't somebody should have checked on that. You would know if a kid came in dirty and smelling like dog crap every day! And you're right, I bet people lined up to "rescue" each and every animal on that place and no doubt people are just bawling over "those poor animals". It finally came down to an animal complaint - no doubt because somebody thought an animal was being abused. No telling how many people knew that something was going on!

This is unbelievable . As you all know from one of my earlier post I have 3 adopted grandchildren and 1 foster grandchild that all have been through the DHS system. Here in Oklahoma I had to have a state inspector come and inspect my house, do a background check on me and my husband, and inspect even my backyard before I could even keep my own grandchildren over night with out their parents. How could this escape the case workers attention? UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

The snow has melted off so rapidly today that it sounded like a hard rain in the eaves and downspouts. The birds are having a great time foraging all the worms coming up in this wet soil and I'm trying to get up the gumption to finish my chick brooder design. It's in the 50s here right now.

I hope everyone out there is having a great day at work and at home in this spring weather...or IF you have spring weather.

Do you realize that I went away for a week, and there are more than 100 pages worth of posts since then?

How is a girl supposed to keep up????

We left and went on a house hunting trip and exchanged out suburban city house in a frigid climate (Central/northern Canada) for 7 acres on a coastal island, complete with barn, chicken coop, and trees over 100' tall!!!!!

The chicken coop will need some major renovating (hasn't been used in 20 years), But.... CHICKENS THERE WILL BE!!!! And lots of them!!!
yesss.gif
I am already having a problem with my chicken math... I only need about 5-6 eggs/day for our family, but then if we want to eat chickens, then I could get cornish Xs, or I could just get a dual-purpose group.... but how do I calculate that?

And then I saw some beautiful Coronation Sussex that I can get for relatievly cheap and nearby, but how can I buy only 3, or even 5, when I know that they are not sexed as day olds so they may ALL be roos, and then how do I have more that aren't inbred? And then I definitely want a mixed bunch of egg clours, so I want some EE, Americaunam black copper Marans.... And OH! The Brahmas are big and cuddly so they would make good eating - and they are supposed to be broody too....

How many chickens does that make? LOL!!!!
yippiechickie.gif

Oh, and have you seen the Colombian Wyandottes? I MUST get some of those!
D.gif

Hmm....

I think I need to size up the coop to see ho many can fit, and then figure out how much bigger a coop I need to make! Good thing I got what I asked for for the Christmas (for the first time ever). A TOOL POUCH, with many tools!!!!
smile.png
Now I will get a can of Yellow spray paint and mark all tools that are mine so I can cut a finger off of anyone who runs off with MY tools!!!! Boy do I get frustrated when I can't find my tools because someone hasn't put them away.

Oh, and I just saw some Euskal Oiloa chickens that are beautiful too!!!

Congrats on the new place! How exciting! Oh, and sorry. Um, that hundred pages might be partly my fault - I tend to be a little wordy, and since my candidacy for Story Laureate of the Chicken Forum I may have gotten just a hair carried away. I could retire my Story Bucket for a little while.....

Might I suggest, instead of spray painting the handles of the tools you want left alone, using flowerdy duct tape? You know something really girly that the guys wouldn't be caught dead using. I'm afraid spray paint, combined with testosterone logic, would mean it wouldn't be long before you'd be hearing, "Nah, I got that paint on that accidentally when I was over working on Mrs. Bafamada's garage door opener, remember?" or some such thing. But using girly duct tape proves two things - you KNOW and appreciate the value of duct tape, and you are deadly serious about protecting your stuff. Jest a thought........

And I repeat my earlier complaint about chicken math - I'm still working out how 14 chicks ended up with 140 butts.
