<sigh> No. I didn't do that yet. Um, first we have to build a mudroom - as soon as we finish the coop. Our door opens directly into the house - face left and you're in the kitchen, face right you're into the living room. First think Ken and I had to do when we first moved into his old place was learn to suck in our guts and walk sideways if we had to pass each other in the hallway.chores first.

I'm so glad for you that your dishwasher problems might be less serious than you thought. When we moved into this old trailer, which has been in Ken's family since the Big Bang Theory, there was no dishwasher, and it was no biggie because it was just him and me. Then we got custody of Jamie and Little Diane, then Kenny and Jenny moved out here, then Katie was born, then Tam and Evan moved out here, then Kendra was born, and I suddenly wanted one very badly. But I couldn't sacrifice any of my few larger cabinets, and the kitchen is typical of a 1970's single wide mobile home. (Ha, I went from Navy Trash to Trailer Trash and I couldn't be happier! I love this old place!) So Ken found an 18 inch built in, installed it for me, and it works great, looks great, handles everything so well I only run it every few days, and I only sacrificed one 18 inch cabinet and a shallow, worthless-for-storage drawer.I do have good news! Well sort of good news. My friend came over and looked at my dishwasher. It isn't leaking from where the screws were, it's the seal. I can still use the dishwasher! He recommended that I get a regular front instead of the cabinet front. The cabinet front is keeping the door from closing tightly, allowing it to leak. It still leaks, just not as bad.
I may need to get a new seal or even a new door though - previous owners put a dent in it, may be the cause of the leak. Neither of those are a priority fix since I can still use the dishwasher.I'll deal with this next month.
I'm geting hungry.... Off to find some lunch. Or a snack.

I am feeling better today but my head still hurts and I am still coughing. I don't think I am going to die anymore so that is definitely improvement! Unfortunately the oldest daughter is home sick today. The little ones are still gunky and grumpy too.
I unplugged the light in the brooder coop yesterday when they were panting and I forgot to plug it back up last night. I don't think it bothered them any. They do seem to have a few more feathers in. I didn't plug it back up this morning either.

I'd better be, Ken's stepdad (of wheelbarrow fame) was one of the first to buy stock when they started offering it for public sale,since he's originally from that area. Are you close to Luxemborg and do the names Sheffy or Shefchick ring any bells? I'm kind of a pediatric home nurse too...give lots of meds to our granddaughter daily, catheterize her 5 times a day, and she gets a cone enema every night, besides her physical, speech and OT therapy. I've always wondered about giving a baby "occupational therapy." Just what job are they preparing her for? We'll be thrilled if she relearns to stand at this point!Good Morning everyone,

I am from Wisconsin, about 1/2 hr from Green Bay. Just the idea of being able to sit on a front porch after this past winter makes me happy.
I am new to the whole backyard chicken community. Attempting to hatch my first batch of chicks now.
I am mom of 4 kids. 27,25.19, and 17. The 25 year old is my only daughter (becky) and she is married to a wonderful guy (weston). My oldest is Jake, followed by Luke(19) and Jeremiah(17).
I will be married for 30 years in Sept. Which is really odd seeing as I swear I'm not a day over 30 myself.
I am an RN. working in pediatric home care.
I have loads of seeds starting in my dinning room, and incubator of eggs warming in my living room and really bad spring fever. Looking forward to listening to all of your stories.

And happy, happy birthday!My husband was a farrier when he first moved here - went to school out in Nevada when he lived in CA. He is currently on pain treatment and had an MRI Saturday to find out if they need to fuse any more vertebrae in his back. So yes, many complaints about what the job did to him.
Well, I had a problem with a similar issue last week. Someone trying to tell me what the standard was for Easter Eggers. Boggled me. I even asked how they could reconcile a name for a non-standard type of chicken with a standard. I should have asked if they could point me to the standard as I was unaware there was one.
We have a chicken who has always laid eggs pointed at each end. I was excited - thought I had a reliable double-yolker! Nope, she's just weird.
I used to help my cousins in NY harvest hay during summer vacation (back when we could afford those). I'd stay on top of the wagon and push the bales into place, then I'd stay there and hand them down. I figure the hay was probably pretty clean, but I sure as heck wouldn't stick one in my mouth now!!!
Not likely - I don't even wanna see me in my farmer clothes.

I am too...and I'm glad they are helping already. Sometimes things either work very well in the beginning then the effectiveness tapers off, or they are the right prescription but don't seem to work at all at first, so meds to help with those ups and downs may take some initial dosage adjustments to get it just right. As Kendra grows we are constantly fine tuning her seizure meds, and it was the same with my seizure meds too....as I gained or lost weight the effectiveness fluctuated. Guess what I'm saying is to tell her to hang in there if she suddenly notices that how she feels changes a little bit - that's normal and can be adjusted as she gets used to the medication. Shoot, hers may work well from day one and never change at all as far as that goes, so she's the best judge of that!
(well maybe 40-50ish) NOPE! sticking with 30 But more than willing to share my hay bale with all of you new members. Welcome guys! And Bee. ......... so glad you caught the hatching bug! I just KNEW it would happen. Maybe after you get your white rocks hatched I will be able to entice you with some eggs that will hatch into blue egg laying pullets.......
