The Front Porch Swing

Sadly he looked at Jenny and said, "I'd rather have a bacon sandwich on toast for Father's Day than a chance." Ken nodded his head. "Next year, " he said, "A card will be plenty."
My jaw dropped at that one. Maybe someone's trying to tell them something.

And how does that dust get inside drawers? Sheesh! My Dyson took one look at that room and ran away. I think the last I heard it was in Minnesota already. Ken's office is actually a very small bedroom in a very small trailer - typical trailer room, with built in dresser drawers, lovely trailer paneling, and it's only 10'x8'. The brooder's length went from the wall to just a few feet short of the doorway. So the overflow ended up throughout the house. I tried my best to keep up with it, but I didn't realize how insidious that stuff was until I started moving things around.
Er. I think I'm not going to tell you that I've done it three years in a row.

I've no electricity in the chicken house to do otherwise. I wish the chick rush happened in May instead of March.

Wait, what did I miss, and how did I miss it???? How far back was the post about her back? I feel terrible that she's offered so much to us here and when she has a problem I totally missed or spaced it! Bee, come baaaaack Bee!!
I hope you're feeling better Bee! I hear there's a trip involved as well. Stay safe!

I love cardamom. :)

Hope everyone has a good day today!
I love cardamom. I had some Jordanian friends years ago who introduced me to arabic coffee and every time I smell cardamom it reminds me of their incredibly rich coffee - they put cardamom in it.

Hi everyone!
Hiyas! I slept through our storm yesterday, but not the one this morning. Creek rose up - there's an old bridge post you can see just outside our windows and when it gets up to the 4th brick from the top, we know we've had some serious rain. In about 3 hours the creek went up 2.5 ft.

We scared a BIG garter snake yesterday, he must have been sunning on the bank under the porch - we saw him slithering downstream trying to go against the current. He couldn't make it, but he did reach the dead tree across the creek and crawled up inside to a vantage point where he could give us his baleful glare until we stopped watching and he disappeared. When I say big, about 2-3 ft long, which is huge for a garter snake. I love their racing stripes!

If we did then I slept threw it. lol Yesterday afternoon we did though. Did you?
Parts of Ohio did. Not sure what part though. I was going to look since I have a friend in Columbus. My part of Texas got big storms.

I want to start painting my house today. I can't though. :/ I need to work and the house hasn't been properly prepped yet. I need to power wash and scrape. Do some repairs. Oh ya, I need the paint too! I'm hoping it will go on sale soon. I think I can get a good start on things on Easter weekend. :) Would anyone like to help me? I have a nice front porch. No swing, but I do have some chairs. :)

God gave us laughter and smiles because he knows things aren't always going to be easy. And, it is way better to laugh through the pain and bad things, then try to cry and keep up with the flow of tears.

Thanks Moxie.... Better today I am getting ready to take Dog food up to My neighbor. He called this morning and took care of the goat. I have a burial place up in the rocks. I am moving forward with my fencing project Sigh... my horse is now without company So I will be looking for a needy soul to live up there.... Most likely another horse or pony. Or maybe a small mule or Mammoth donky... As long as they are good for the farrier and dont need special meds. Or even some more goats....

but I have to have good fence and an electrical chager in place first.

Quote: Rocking Jolly Kateen.... Katee for short. Is 17.1 hands and a little fluffier than the pix. There she is about 1600 lbs right now shes pushing 2000.... Shed love to have some lovin.... That thing with the car tires and tractor seat is a Forecart a piece of farm equipment designed and build by the Amish. It is Farm equipment.... With it you can hook up all sorts of tools from Mowers to wagons and haying equipment. Its an excellent tool for training draft horses too.

WRT the goats and the chickens I have lost to coyotes.... I mourn their loss.... Its my job to keep them safe and well fed and watered. I am unable to do this at this time.... And untill I can I wont be restocking.... I NEED to live there at least part of the time in order to do that. So now I can get up there and throw the doors open and clean house. Maybe move some of the stuff I have accumulated up there now.

When I moved in with grandma I brought only a suitcase full of clothes. and rarely went back home to bring anything down. So now its six years later...

Quote: Dander is from the feathers.... especially with chicks loosing their fuzz and bringing in real feathers. The fuzz creats dust and the new feathers have a sheath around them to protect them while they grow out. That sheath is thinner than paper so when the chicks groom it off it also turns to dust. Best way to combat it is raise em where it doesnt matter. I know I raised up 40 Guinea keets in moms garage...... Her Garage will NEVER be the same again.....
