I just googled using pallets for compost bins and tons of images came up. Doesn't even look like you need a bottom. Just use the ground. So 3 pallets, 3 sides and that way you have one side open in the front in order to be able to turn it. I need 3 pallets. I saw some on the way from somewhere to somewhere and I thought as I passed them that I should remember where I was so I could come back and get them...don't remember where I was. Oh well, story of my life!!!!Just watched the drunken compost video. Very interesting.
I don't think I have enough stuff to compost around here. I only catch my grass in the fall to get rid of the bulk of the leaves I have and I dump them straight into my garden to compost over the winter. I may need to find a place to compost them this fall though since I want to try winter gardening. I am thinking about the pallet type though since it is nicely contained.
Funny but for those of you who saw my original post asking about composting a few pages back, you may be confused as to why I mentioned that I was getting my fence moved back and so I wanted to compost. Well, when I re-read it I realized that it made no sense. I am having the fence moved back to my property line, where it should have been when the fence was put in in the first place, and THEN I will have room for a nice compost pile. I am worried about flies.
