Other than humans, most male mammals have a penis bone and old coon hunters used to cut those out of their boar coons and compare the sizes...sort of like a competition for the biggest, baddest boar coon. Anyhoo, they would often drill a hole in the base of a particularly large specimen, wear it on their watch chain, sharpen down the tip and use it as a toothpick~sort of a silent, but quite evident, bragging.

Good coon huntin' in Arkansas, I gather...isn't that where they based the film Where the Red Fern Grows?

Nowadays I guess some folks make jewelry of 'em....
