Yes, I'm of that mind, Linda. He must have lost his mate last year, which could have contributed to his giving up. And they don't necessarily take to a new mate, I know that. You run the risk of them hating each other, and then I would have to create two swan yards, two swan pens, two swan ponds! Arrrggghhhhh!
 
Those are golden chain. They are gorgeous for about a week every year. The sound of the bees in them is insane, so is the scent.

We keep the Delawares in there full time. Or we have since the turkeys left at Thanksgiving. It was a big space for just three birds. Now there are 14. Soon there will be two more hens and six or more chicks ... We'll keep all the Delawares in there until the cockerels cause problems.
 
Oh, sorry, your Dad is very nice looking too.
