The Front Porch Swing

Soo Happy for all of you!!! Congratulations!!! Beautiful Granddaughter!!
Want to give you all an update on my DIL Stephanies benefit this past weekend. GOD IS SO GOOD!! :bow The outpouring of support and love was sooo overwhelming and humbling!! They raised an enormous amount for her!! So much more than we ever dreamed!!!  This if from a very small community in a sleepy little hollow of sw Ohio.  No big money here, at all!! Just Big Hearts!  They had a live auction, and people were beyond generous.  Some would pay hundreds of dollars for an item and then donate it back to be auctioned off again. My granddaughters 5th grade class donated a gift basket worth over $200 and it brought more than that.  One of her classmates painted a picture of a fluffy dandelion, with the fluff being blown. You would not think it to be made by a 5th grader, it was sooo good! He called it "My Wish". His wish is "that Stephanie would have a successfull lung transplant"! It was bought by a very generous gentleman, then donated back and then I bought it!  :clap It is beautiful!! That little boy gave up a new bike he was saving for, to donate.  There was such an interest in his art, that he is going to paint some more pics and people are going to pay him for them.  He already has the bike he was saving for.  Another "God thing" story. A dear friend of ours prayed and told the Lord she wanted to do something special for Stephanie.  She kept going in the room where she had an heirloom quilt hanging on the wall.  She felt this is what the Lord would have her do.  She wanted it to go for $1000, and she told the Lord she would make up the difference of what the quilt would bring. Well, that quilt brought sold for $850! She was so happy, even though it was very hard for her to part with the quilt.  It was made by her great aunts, and after they passed, it went to her mother, and it hung in their home for many years, and then passed to my friend.  The people who bought the quilt go to church with us.  So on Sunday morning, they brought the quilt and gave it back to her!! Her testimony was this, when we give and obey the Lord, He always gives back so much more!! Several people at church that couldn't make it to the benefit, and there were a
hole lot of  them that came, handed me envelopes, checks, cash to give to her.  I'm still overwhelmed, and so, so  thankful to my faithful God!! I try to be thankful everyday for all of His blessing, because I have been blessed beyond measure!!! But when I see the hand of God work in such a mighty way, I'm always so surprised!!?? Why is that!!?? I see His mighty hand in my world everyday.  Praise His Holy name! Halleluia!  I don't want you all to think I'm just praising my God because of just this blessing! My God is good all the time!! We are in for some highs and some lows in this journey we will walk with our Stephanie, but we will trust and believe, praise and worship, no matter what the outcome! His ways aren't our ways, and His thoughts aren't our thoughts!  Sorry for the long post, but I feel like shouting from the rooftops!!!

I had a hard time.finishing reading this cause of the tears in my eyes! Praise God for all his blessings!

Yay!!! We are going to pick up our first order (ton) of custom feed today! I can't wait to get started with this feed.

I've been communicating with the feed company for nearly 2 years trying to arrange an order, and though I did get somewhat closer during that time, it took a LOT of persistence on my part and I just couldn't get a pick-up date arranged with them. Dad makes one call and we have not just a pick-up date, but an actual pick-up appointment.

Oh, to be 6'3" and have a deep voice and that undefinable attitude that makes every grunt and eye flick an order.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I will have some chocolate chip raisin oatmeal cookies fresh out of the oven to offer up in 8minutes :) Yesterday and today I've been baking for my sons lemonade stand this weekend.
A little about me. A year ago my husband and I bought are first house, it's in town, couldn't afford any land :( But we got three ducks three weeks ago to help keep the slugs down in are yard. We have a four year old son, a dog, cat and the three ducks of course. My son named the ducks Ana, Elsa and Kristof because like all four year olds he is obsessed with frozen. I have a small home daycare and my husband is an electrician. My son is an electrian too, so he tells me, he's a hard worker like his dad.
Pretty much it. Now graving cookies out of the oven!
