The Front Porch Swing

Been a wonderful weekend. Oldest granddaughter, Little Diane, was married back in South Dakota, and youngest granddaughter, Kendra, was the flower girl. What a beautiful day!

Kendra "flower-girling" with Dustin's little brother Ethan as her escort.

Little Diane's dad and Grampa walking her down the aisle. She wanted it like this because we raised her.

First time being introduced as Mr. and Mrs.

Lovely bride, wasn't she? I barely recognized this princess as the gangly little girl who always had skinned knees and a smudged face.

Now THIS is the Little Diane I know! That girl would turn inside out for tortilla chips!

Little Diane took Kendra out of her wheelchair and out onto the dance floor. It was such a special moment!

And toward the end of the night she plopped her hiney down on the floor and took those shoes OFF!
Wonderful, honey, just wonderful. I feel like I've been there. Engagement question. All the pictures. Tells a lovely story.

Love pictures, Blooie! Time sure flies, doesn't it? Kendra getting so big and now Little Diane married.. guess you might have to go with "younger Diane" or "the woman formerly known as".

I'm gonna look into those birds, Linda, they sound like fun!

Thanks, Linda....I love sharing my family with such nice people!

Woohoo! Congrats on the Golden Feather! What's it like not to be inundated with ads? I heard that when you buy (or win!) that Golden Feather one of the perks is no ads!

We've gone from Baby Diane and Big Diane to Little Diane and Gramma Diane - but she'll always be either Little Diane or Bumbley to the family.

Ken rarely calls her anything but "Bumbley."

@DMRippy sells them on her thread. It's a cross of Crested Cream Legbar cockerel and a white leghorn. Light Blue not green. I have had the best hatch rate with her shipping than anybodies. They come in barred, spash type and white. By splash I mean black spots on white. Good birds. Yes, I have a fellow that is building me a coop this Sunday and he is bringing me 3 doz @ $2. Not bad.

oh good, i reread my post and it sounded kinda harsh, which is not how I meant it at all.

$2 is what we are planning too.

I will have to look into those sapphires, we are going for blues for next additions in spring. Chicken math, ya know...

Yes, it's a way to help BYC remain on the net. $12 for 6 mo. That's what I won. No ads.

Not harsh at all, yes the Sapphires are easy to raise. Not as skittish as pure leghorns. I'll be interested to see what my 2 I kept will look like when grown and laying.
