The Front Porch Swing

Then there's always cooking and carpentry with Felix

Yesterday was chicken-sundried tomato pasta.

1 lb chicken, cut into strips.
1 clove garlic
1 shallot
½ cup of sundried tomatoes
1 cup cream
oregano
salt
pepper
fresh basil

Fry the garlic and onion on low heat in oil, once they're cooked, turn up the heat and throw in the chicken. When the chicken is cooked, add the tomatoes, cream and the seasonings, except for the basil. When the sauce is ready, add the basil, and serve with pasta and Parmesan cheese. The sauce might need to be thickened a bit, some corn starch works for that.

Keep em coming Felix! :) Sounds yummy.

Hey, I made pulled pork in Coke last week, that was yummy too. Threw a 3 lbs piece of pork neck in a cast iron pot together with half a quart of Coca Cola, let it sit in the oven at about 250 F with the lid on for 5 hours, then tore the meat apart and added some BBQ sauce (homemade), and let it be in the oven on higher heat for about 15 minutes. That was yummy too. Made some nice sandwiches with that, served with fries and Dijon mustard mayo.

Ok for those of you who have kids.... Betsy is a friend of mine and she just published her first childrens book.

I looked it up. It sounds very interesting. It's hard for me to spend that much on a book, I get most of mine at the used book store because then if something happens to it, I'm not devastated, but maybe I could get it for my son and he could keep it in his room away from the daycare kids. It doesn't say how many pages it is or age it's targeted for. Do you think a four year old would enjoy it?

I should say, my son is good with books and loves to be read to..... but I have an extremely destructive child in my daycare who is not gentle with books at the moment. Any paper books are kept in my sons room with the door shut, only cardboard books are on the daycare book shelf and we are working on looking at them nicely. All of them love circle time and being read to though.

Yep she wanted to price it lower but Amazon was in charge. I believe the black and white is less expensive... I havent bought mine yet.

I believe she said it was about the same level as Stewart Little ....?

Oh, ok! Nice. That makes the price sound a little better! If it's a children's chapter book! My son isn't ready for chapter books yet, but I feel like he's getting close and I want to start reading him some. I was thinking about getting him a few children's chapter books I enjoyed when I was younger and seeing if he enjoys them.

The Amazon page has the full add setup and allows you to read a few pages.... definatley a good read for both adults and children...

Ok, I was able to read a bit more on that link. It sounds like something my niece would enjoy. And I agree, who can't like a time traveling cat?
