'Busy' doesn't begin to cover it

My brain still thinks it's Wednesday... going, going, goooone.

Hey, I totally wish I could stay that busy. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed that I just sit in one place and think about all the things I need to do. It's counterproductive, I think, haha!

Um, isn't that what the Porch is partly for? Where do you think that old expression, "C'mon in and take a load off....." came from? Oh, I know, it's supposed to mean sit down and take the load off your feet, but here we are in another dimension and we get to make up our own words and expressions!

Kinda wish I could take the teenage boy off my back for awhile. I wonder if he'd notice if I left him in a basket on the porch...

Hey, I totally wish I could stay that busy. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed that I just sit in one place and think about all the things I need to do. It's counterproductive, I think, haha!

Wish I was fun busy, but it's more yucky busy. Doctors visits, therapy visits, in-home preschool visits... too much driving around. It's all needed, but BLAH, I hate it. Kiddo doesn't like it either.

I'm just as bad about getting paralyzed by what needs to be done and not knowing where to start. *stares at several days worth of dishes* BEGONE! ... well.. that didn't work. Guess I best go wash them. Or the kids.. the kids need washing too. Choices, choices. Think I can do the dishes in the tub with the kids?

Wish the birds were free to roam but I know I'd be absolutely crazy if I had to watch them for as long as they are out. That darn owl showed up and was watching me from a huge tree beyond our property. Now I'm trying to find hatching eggs from decent lines (mille fleur d'uccle, Ameraucanas, Sebastopol geese, etc) and I haven't gotten responses yet, so I'm still all hyped up! Goodness, I need to sit with a nice cup of chai tea and just breathe through it. Then maybe paint something so I don't feel so crazy.

I just ventured to the Sebastopol thread and saw her name! I will try and message her soon. I'm just waiting to see if the other sellers contact me back. I'm actually trying to get birds from two different flocks so I can have more diversity. It'll take awhile to actually make use of that diversity but it's still good to have.

I desperately miss my muscovies. When the hen was taken, I think I cried for hours. She was my favorite bird and was a total sweetheart. I had to sell her boyfriend so he'd have a chance with another hen. I have five of her babies, though, so I'm hoping to raise them up and keep them for the new generation of my flock.

Ooh, everyone is so busy! I've just barely had time to pop in recently, unfortunately. Mostly good things have been happening lately, but things are also stressful, so I've been turning to my birds lately. I finally have geese! Two beautiful Tufted Roman geese (a nice pair) that I raised from goslings are some of the newest additions. I also managed to get a lovely blue double-bearded silkie (who just started laying eggs) and have hatched two successful clutches of duck eggs in my Little Giant incubator. I have about ten goose eggs in the incubator now (Chinese/African mixes), two silkie eggs, and a dozen or so game eggs that a friend asked if I could hatch for her. My mom and I are about order some Sebastopol eggs (because she loves the look of them) and I'm looking for some d'uccle eggs to hatch. I'm thinking of raising them so I can actually specialize in a breed for once.

I guess it's needless to say that I've been busy, too?

Business stuff is going slow, mostly because I've been working on graphic stuff for my cousin. I'm hoping to send a couple chairs out in the next couple weeks to sell. I did buy a very nice chaise to reupholster from a church sale recently. For $25, I think the quality far surpasses the purchase price.

I need to catch up on what's going on. I'm so lost but I see there was some home renovation going on. Good job keeping busy!

Blooie is right. I love the front porch swing. I always bring the Blueberry lemonade, be sure to take some back to that young man you have taken under your wing.

I think he's had enough. I forgot to mention that the kid is a football player (read: built like a freakin' barn) so he eats a whole lot. I made flautas for us a month ago. For my dad and brother, 6 each was enough. For Nathan? He ate 14. I was horrified/in awe/shocked. I think I ate 4 and was full.

We are buying more groceries now, though, and eating out less. I fill these kids up with sides of veggies and hope that they won't consume the kitchen. O_O
