All these how to boil your egg posts are making me sad because our ducks have slowed down on egg laying. Funny how you go from more eggs then you can eat to no eggs!
How are you all doing on the porch? We have still been busy with the end of soccer season and halloween sneaking up on us! We carved the pumpkins yesterday.
My two had to have dinosaurs on them. Not an easy task and anything that can be considered remotely crafty, I'm just horrible at, so of course my son wants dinosaurs on a pumpkin
For his pumpkin, my son wanted a scary face. He was very detailed about what it had to look like. I kid you not, I had to draw the face out on paper first so he could sit and explain how it had to look. It doesn't look complicated in the picture, but this was a process... trust me!
We are very excited for Halloween now. Gabe is going to be a pterosaur again this year, so he will wear the same costume from last year. I told him he can't wear the costume to school because the beak we made from cardboard and I can imagine the meltdown if it gets broken, so he is choosing a costume from our costume chest to wear to school.
One final picture of the pumpkins on the porch.
We are expecting to have around 800 trick or treaters this year with halloween being on a Saturday. Usually we get around 500. We live in one of the only neighborhoods with sidewalks and street lights and its a big ordeal. Some neighbors have projectors with movies playing, some hand out hot chocolate, so it's a lot of fun. When we get home from trick or treating, we don't even close the front door, we just sit on the porch and my son loves "helping" all the kids choose something from the bowl. We don't do candy. This year we have some cool spider, bat and skeleton rings, pencils, erasers and halloween toys and stickers. My son keeps wanting stuff, so I had to hide the bowl in the laundry room. So I can't wait for it to all be gone saturday! Haha
