The Front Porch Swing

Why, thank you both very kindly! DP, you should enter too. Alice, I think you entered yours, didn't you? I can't remember if you decided you would. If not, you should! The nest with the egg counts!

Blooie that is a fantastic likeness!
Thanks, tjo......some parts were easier than I thought they'd be, other parts were harder. Glad my real run isn't as unstable as the one on the gingerbread coop - but it only had to last long enough to take pictures for the contest. Now it can totally collapse if it wants to. Kendra already snitched some M&Ms off the path.

But if you peek in the cracks the Silkie is still on the roost

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Anyone do anything exciting? We went up to Oregon. We went to the Oregon zoo one day and spent a day in Ashland and the rest of the time in McMinnville. We went sledding, made a snowman and had lots of fun.

Anyone have New years plans?

Had a wonderful Christmas! I am so blessed to have this family, All of the traditions that meant so much to me growing up - and those we've added through the years - are like a renewal when I hear the stories I once told now being told by Katie and Evan. Watching Kendra's eyes light up when she finally (after 4 years) figured out what unwrapping gifts was all about was priceless. And Evan and Katie did their traditional toasts with their "champagne" - that's always either heartwarming or hilarious, and sometimes both. This year it was both. Katie toasted "all of the LaVonnes who have gone before", (said in her most serious tone) and then she toasted Baby Jesus, "who was almost born on Gramma's birthday!" I was trying so hard not to laugh! Do you know how old that would make me??

Here's to a New Year filled with adventure, prosperity, and all the joys your hearts can hold!

Blooie, that sounds wonderful! Yay for Kendra opening her gifts and Katie's toast

Deb, I was with you on not wanting to get up this morning. I had the hardest time getting up!

I wish it was just not wanting to get up. I am running out of steam and neeeed sleep. I cant though. Grandma fell the other day so am being extra vigilant keeping the baby monitor on listening for anything different.

My real sleep happens as a nap of about two to three hours in the afternoon. But "stuff" happening means I have missed my nap for about four days in a row.

Grandma is 99
