Coal laughed. "I'm a rooster, you know. Last time I checked, the Eater took off one of Iris's spurs."

“Hmph.” Bandit huffed. “Iris, the sentinel? Hmm.” She stared distractedly in the direction of the Lookout tree, not actually seeing it, as it was hidden by the canopy.
“Say, how do you see Eaters from up there, anyway?” She wondered, giving Coal a sideways look.

Coal shrugged. "Not sure, to be honest. The lower branches give you a view below the tree-tops, I think, and the higher branches let you see the Sky-Eaters. But I'm not sure. Never been there."
