The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

I can ship some Saturday am if you want. I have 2 incubators going one with crele penedesenca from a friend the other with black penedesenca from someone else. Since I only had a dozen of each I filled in the rest with Empordanesa. I really would like for more people to raise them. They are a super breed and need the help. They are one of the rarest breeds in the States and you don't have to pay a fortune to get eggs

That would be great!

Do the incubation experiment! She wants to try it. You are at a higher elevation and so is she.

It will be a great experiment!

Thanks! I just ordered some. I will try it using the insulation pipe.

I have used pipe insulation on some extras I included that ended up being right in the outside corner of a box...they arrived intact..and actually the. packing in that heavy foam worked well, I did switch slightly to a large piece under the carton filled aroung the edges with peanuts and paper the a piece on each side of the carton with voids filled again and a piece the on top of the carton.. not only were zero broken, 11 out of 13 just went into lockdown..I aslo 5 of those eggs were laid minutes before I took them to my USPS.

Question you'll, these little eggs, that currently look clear to my very old eyes, but are not 7 days until Friday or Sat. Morning...so might not be clear......

Anyway... To me they look like potential explosions....

They have little bits of that yellow oozing out of the shell, some more than others. But MAN, that is almost all of the eggs in that batch of shipped (only one of which could I see veins of I think 12 total)

Here are pictures...... Am I really this unlucky?

In one picture there is a larger spot close to the middle. In the other picture, you will have to open the picture to the larger size to see the large number of very small spots.

What do you'll think?

I toss oozing eggs as soon as I find them. They will not hatch even if fertile and it they get that goop on the other eggs it will ruing the hatch.

They likely had micro crack in them. If you used a good candler, the cracks should show up on the eggs. I inspect shipped eggs for cracks.

Well, they do not have micro cracks...that my eyes can still see... (They kinda glow with the flashlight)

Do you think I should throw away ALL of the eggs from that shipper, even the ones without spots?
