If it is that big of deal to you, you can say the price is for shipping and handling. That would typically mean it covers the cost of postage and supplies.

I did it! 2 boxes of eggs, postage paid online, labels printed and attached, and pickup scheduled for tomorrow morning.

This has probably been mentioned before ( i didn't go back through and look) but does anyone use the regional flat rate boxes? I haven't used them for eggs, but I mail my handmade soap in them, which are pretty heavy. The price has been much better especially if the recipient is close to me.

How interesting that this subject should come up today. The box of eggs I just received are in a regional flat rate box, which as far as I can remember, is the first time I ever got eggs in a regional flat rate box,

I went to USPS and tried to figure out how it works, and can't find any useful info.

If I were to get some bundles of regional flat rate boxes, I wonder if I could just use them as normal priority boxes? It would give me additional sizes of boxes. Some people order some odd lots of eggs.

I go to the USPS website to calculate shipping and it will give you a price for the regional rate. The PO doesn't carry the boxes so you have to order them online.

Anyhoo, go to the USPS website and then to calculate shipping. Plug in the zip codes and then scroll to the bottom where is says "select shape" and then click on the "package, " then continue. At the top there are blue boxes and one of them (maybe third one down) says Priority Mail options....click on that and it should give you rates for the regional A, B, C.

The regional rate boxes are not flat rate - they are calculated by weight. You can only use them if you buy the postage online and print it. You can not use them if you are buying postage at your local PO.

The regional boxes makes it all too complicated, at least at this time. I'm dropping the idea for now.

I do have a question- is it permissible to ship anything other than shoes in the priority shoe box?
