Today is day 15, and cull day. . . I went from 21 eggs (not all Tolbunt) to 8 eggs. I now have 5 Tolbunts left.
So, remember that egg I kept candling that eventually went weird looking and died? Well, here's how it looked when it got cracked open. . .
I knew something was up with it - The whole time I wondered why the dead chick wasn't moving around at all, not even just plain floating in there. . . Well here's why. The fetus was literally stuck and perhaps even sort of burnt to the inside of the egg shell. When I opened the egg, everything poured out an odd creamy thick yellow color, with a lot of white "chunks" in it. Then, the embryo stayed inside - It was all stuck to the little fetus, which was stuck to the shell, so I peeled it away. The embryo eventually gave away, simply just a crisped skin, and I had to actually chip the fetus off the egg.
It was brown, crusty, and looked kinda burnt or something. . . Really weird.
In the end my skillet of eggs looked like this - Most of the darker yolks in there are from my own Polish, and the really white, icky looking ones on the right are a couple Tolbunts. The already broken up and smeared yolks are from my Easter Egger. . . Hers are always liquefied at this age.
