The Guy's Grunts and Girl's Giggles Thread

I work in emergency dispatch of the security dept at a certain Japanese auto manufacturing plant (I would just say it but they get a bit touchy about people 'using their name for self promotion'

) And on an unrelated note, we need a gigantic eye rolling emote. The problem was that this was not a traditional bomb threat, someone wrote it on a stall in the men's room. So it was discovered as graffiti. It was a false alarm, but it was the second one this week. I doubt an associate could actually GET and PLANT a functioning bomb into the plant and put it somewhere that it wouldn't be found almost immediately, however you have to take these things seriously. And it really eats up a chunk of the day having to deal with.

... Personally, I would rather be dealing with that than sitting In an office watching moniters, (not sure If this is what a average days entails?) But than again I am the one planning on joining the marines and fighting for a spot on first recon.... lol so what do I know about normal?

LoL @ HPF. It's not quite so bas just staring at monitors. Although we do do a bunch of that too. We are the central dispatch/emergency dispatch at my post so we handle and direct pretty much all of the radio traffic around the plant, and a fair bit of the phone traffic. We deal with everything from associates with flat tires and dead batteries to medical emergencies and communications between the plant and Emergency Responders, to observing severe weather and communicating with the local EMAs, and of course just the routine stuff found by the patrolling posts. It's never the same shift twice that's for sure. Some days you'd almost pay someone to give you a reason to tone something, other days you just want to sit in the corner and go to you happy place, lol.

BTW, I hope that your plans work out for you HPF, I have a huge amount of respect for ANYONE willing and able to serve.

thank you so much griffin.... It means so much to me that some people do have respect for them.... It seems so many people dont give a rats *ss, just because they dont like the places the government sends them....

fyi I have mullah & I'm way younger then the rest of you. & I have a bank account! I even have a job, so haha on all of you for not saving animals!

Excuse me? Just because you're so rich doesn't mean the rest of us are. Don't you think I WISH I could donate to all the animal saving things I can? All I can do is sign petitions! Just ask my mom what our situation is, and maybe you won't be laughing!

Truth be told, if I had enough money and an internet bank account, I would donate to buy a cup of coffee for a soldier, so s/he could have 15 minutes of down time. The men and women serving and sacrificing so that we can have the freedom to donate to save the animal mean more to me than the animal.
But if I had enough money for both, I would donate to both. Just saying, if I had to choose, I'd choose the soldiers.
