Well in this day and age, people have an excuse for EVERYTHING and never want to take responsibility for anything so I feel like this has brought on allot of this stuff. I mean let's stop a minute and look at what we have currently. We have our freedom in this Country, which is the greatest Country in the World. So we decide we don't want to have insurance, OK that's fine, then you have a major health issue that requires more money than you have or even can arrange to pay. If we go to the doctor they expect to be paid for their services, right? I would. If you can't pay for the procedure, you try your best to arrange whatever arrangements with the doctor and then if you can agree on an arrangement the doctor does the work, treatment, etc. All is good right? Well all is good if you can afford to pay for it or come to an arrangement. If you can't pay then you don't get the treatment, etc. That sounds pretty simple huh. Well then you get worse and you go to emergency room and it's life or death and they can't refuse you help, and you still can't pay, and then the treatment is much more complicated and even more expensive. So they treat you, so who is paying for this? That's right, the ones that can, the ones that have insurance, the ones that have money saved up, the ones that have prepared a little. Is that fair, not hardly but that's the way it works.

I think the problem started a long time ago and this is a result of people that want freedom but don't want to except the responsibility that comes with that freedom. So many more examples such as children, people constantly keep having children that shouldn't but it's against their right to fix that BUT it's not against my right to keep paying for them. Until we put responsibility back where it belongs then this will just continue.

I, on the other hand, have a multitude of talents and skills, and have yet to find a man who can outwork me, side by side, yet, because I chose freedom and individuality, the system rejects me and I remain hovering at the poverty line.

The irony of it all is that everyone of the others spend thousands in healthcare, and I'm never, ever sick.

You sound very much like my brother- never sick a day in his life until he landed in the ER in a coma, spent three weeks there until he died. Tens of thousands of dollars in uninsured, unpaid medical bills. (I shouldn't say unpaid- someone paid, or rather, everyone paid... through higher costs and premiums on everyone else).
