I put several cockerels in a coop and pen. I have 3 coops and pens right now to finish the cockerels in. One pen is for those that are already deemed to go to freezer camp and the others I'll let grow out more and make my final cut the first of the year when I set up my breeding pens. The boys are still fairly young, around 6 months old, and they may have a squabble but for the most part get along ok as long as there are no females.

I was given to believe that 2010 was the newest one since it was the newest I could find. That's the one the APA shipped me.

I was watching the flock after I culled a few more for the stock/broth for the year. I saw one of the black (sell) bands on what I thought ..... now he looks ratty, why did we pick him..... but when I got closer to check it out the characteristic molting quill ends showed why he looked that way from the distance. They are currently molting again. Can't wait to see them fill in!!!! Waiting for some good finishing tails. Somebody is going to be happy with that one for sure.

Got a memorial to go to in the morning so the other three in the cull cage will wait until after the luncheon. ;)

Fred I'm letting the Juveniles and the last hatch choose which of the smaller grow pens to go in. aka not trying to repen if they go in the other ... too much trouble and they get the same food anyway. So long as I feed the oldest first they don't go in with younger ones.

Next weekend going to try and get that other pen I was going to use for breeding capped off. Using it for the next cull holder.

Already thinking about the breeding set up I want to do for next spring..... It will be here before we know it. A little jealous of all you living in warmer spots that can start earlier. :p

I think it is the best one and IS the APA version. Other companies sell condensed, etc versions. Before I got mine I checked out every version I could find. I found the the 2010 from the Association to be the best one and easiest to use.
Getting it straight from the Association ensures you get a precise/complete one. I think you will be happy with it. I am.

Oh yeah, I'm definetly happy with my APA SOP. I believe I got it from Amazon but it was being sold by the APA and was shipped by the APA. It is very comprehensive and I find it to be very useful at shows or just when I need some reference. I do wish the pictures were a little bit bigger, but other than that I'm super happy with it.
