Grow them out and see how they turn out. I have met people in the past that have told me they have Mohawks but when I actually see the birds they don't look like them. I ask them about their birds and they usually tell me that that is what they were told. Anyone can say they have Mohawks and they may have Mohawk in them but often times are mixed with other birds or lines. When I was looking for my birds I asked Mr. Blosil from the article I posted above for advice and I stuck with what he told me. The first birds I got were nice but not as wide as I would have liked so then I sought out a breeder I was told about and saw his birds and fell in love with them and bought a quad from him. All of my birds I have now started out with that quad. I have over the years gotten a couple of related males from the same breeder. I know he keeps them pure.
