I agree. I have had good luck with shipped eggs and bad luck with shipped eggs. There is no guarantee with them. I personally put mine in the incubator as soon as I get them because I don't know how old the eggs are unless they have been marked by the shipper. Most often I do staggered hatches. I don't worry about letting them set for 24 hours or so. My incubator has a turner so the eggs are going to be turned and as I look at it, exercising the embryo as it develops. Whatever works best for you.
I unpackage mine and let them sit correct side up for 24 hours... then put them in the incubator. I usually let the incubator run for 3-4 days prior to this to make sure it's regulating correctly.
I just put 16 Rhodebar eggs the incubator yesterday.
Am grateful I don't have to hatch my RC RIR... they are coming live this coming week - 20 of them. I am SO very excited!! Been looking for just the right chicks for a long time.
