The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

That is strange...none of my RIR's have horn on their legs like that. How did you guys do that?

Ha, ha, ha. I read the message before seeing who wrote it and then I really had to laugh. You should have seen how much paint was spilled all over me trying to get them to look like that. Especially when I wanted the scales to show up and not just a solid color. lol
Thanks
Jim

Yes sir Jeff BUT I have done a lot and will be doing more of getting rid of some of the others. When spring comes I will have 3 lines ( Matt's Red's, Nelson and both RC and SC of the Underwood. I'm not even concerned with keeping chickens for eggs customers. I have gotten so overwhelmed with these reds that that is it for me from now on. As long as these lines work for me, I will never have anything any different. My Nelson and both varieties of the Underwood's have proven to be very decent layers and if these from Matt are close to them, that is it for me. lol There may be others out there just as nice, I really don't know but I am completely satisfied with what I have to work with.

Nowadays Guys my age don't know how/nor will get their lily white hands dirty, its a shame I tell ya

Cant wait to fill them up with these HRIR!!!!!
Yea I just finished my hen community yesterday. Worked in the pouring off and on rain for the last 4 days to get it done. 6x12 house with 6 6' roosting poles. 32x64 area for them all to roam. The roosters side is the same. But only a 6x6 house. Next on the list are breeder pens. But no rush at the moment for those. Not bad for a 50 yr old man!!
