The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

I did do some research onRhode Island and i also grew up wirh this breed from purebred on farms and i am old enough to see the different in the breed of yesterday and the breed of today and also did rescearch on ideal they are not a commercial hatchery it is a family farm that believe in purebreds and have been breeding heritage frowl since 1938.

Ideal hatchery does not sell Pure Bred Rhode Island Reds. There is a drastic difference in what you got from them and what a true, pure bred Red is.

Another large hatchery carrying a fairly wide assortment of breeds of chickens, bantams, ducks, geese, turkeys and guineas. Among other things, they will sex and mark chicks and they will ship very small orders.

She got the chicks from a place called Ideal Farms in Georgia. Not the same as Ideal Hatchery in Texas.

Matt, I just hatched the first chicks from the male I got from you and your dad in Lake City. They're looking nice. Please tell your dad that the cockerel has filled out quite a bit since I have had him. You dad didn't think he was all that good.

Yes they have been around for a long time (1937). When my husband and I got our first birds around 50 years ago they were from a hatchery but I don't remember which one anymore. I know we have gotten chicks from Ideal in Texas many years ago but now we hatch our own.
