The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

This is bred by english bred hens
I will be the last to say that this is not the SOP reds that some of us are raising but she does look a lot different the the ones that I have. First thing I saw was the pinched looking tail. She does seem to have horn color on beak and feet but lots of fluff on thigh area and color is different also. Seems to have decent keel . I say it like this, if you are satisfied with her then that is what matters.
I'm sure that the folks on here that show could really tell you a lot but I only go by what I have and what I read. My honest experience is that if she were mine I would not use her as a breeder but if she lays good then she can give you a good breakfast. I'm trying to give an honest opinion and hope you don't think that I'm being rude.
Lots of different pictures and write ups on here and other places to go by. Again, lots of info on my site.

Thank you, some of it might be due to stress, it was bred from good show stock (that I've seen round shows) and has been on it's own since 9 weeks old, it's been laying for 2 months

Your hens look really nice. how come mine has it's tail sticking up? Also how come with some of yours have white legs and mine has yellow? Is that a problem?

I used different cameras so the colors don't show up good but the legs are yellow. Here is another picture of some of my RIR and RIW birds. At one show a few years ago, a judge wrote on the coop tag that the legs weren't yellow enough, so that has been one thing I have worked on.

I don't really know what you are wanting to know but I have lots of information on my web page about the RIR's. Address at bottom of my posts, just click on it.

Love our Reese babies. I love taking pictures of them. All of the chicks are now offspring of birds I got from Matt. They are separated because they are from different males and females.
Such great looking babies the lille chunky one in the middle front in pic4 is a heartstealer for sure and yes even if all from reese line i can understand keeping them separate I know this is what i would do also.I just LOVE

My Avatar was my first RC RIW male. People who see my whites are surprised how white they are as want to know if I do anything. They are just chickens and mostly like to dust bathe. They do have nice sand to bathe in.
