He definently isn't a Rhode Island Red and appears to be a mixed breed with Easter Egger blood. :)
 
Here is some photos of my flock swarming my visiting Grandson mixing their FF. And a couple of my planned breeder Cockerels. I do have four more young RIR bred Cockerels if anyone might be interested.

bluebirdnanny your birds are beautiful. This is my main boy he won at a show last season. He cut his comb somehow but he will be in a breeder pen. The lighting makes them look lighter than they really are. The girls are older girls.

What is the female standing next to your boy? I did an experiment breeding one of my RC RIR males with some RC RIW females. Here is what I thought was going to be male turned out to be female. I kept 2 and gave the rest away to a friend.




 
Oh she was an oops where a RIR got on a Rock hen. She is on her way out. Being nice and letting her teach the pullets from this year the boundaries first. She is in molt too. Have two rocks and about 3 kittle birds will cull soon. I want 100 percent Nelson Based Rhode Island reds for the next years. Building up my flock for better selection choices to breed and the rest for eggs, meat and sale in the future.;)
 
I have 4 up and coming cockerels if anyone is interested. I know Freds Hens has dibs on the best of the four. Then three will be available. I'm northeastern lower Michigan if anyone is interested in them.

What is the breeding line on yours? Is that Underwood or Nelson? :idunno
