The Kriners, father & son-both string men, were from Pennsylvania. Looked it up in my Stringmans Scrapbook just to be sure.

Two RC Cockerels and two RC Pullets from Horstman line. These are about 6 1/2 months. Pic's taken today. Not my best pictures
but you can at least see color etc. Some shots were in shade and some in full sun.










Next two pullets from NYREDS 5 1/2 months




Next is 2 different Cockerels and 1 Pullet (Mohawk) from Paul Gingerich 6 months tomorrow.

I'd say those 2 pullets alone are worth what you paid for the eggs. Looking good. I'm glad you got something worthwhile from them.

Very nice looking reds. Pictures are always a tough task for me too.
The RC all look like they have nice type.
The tails on the 2 nyreds pullets are real nice and they appear to have great type.
I like them all.

Yes Bill, I ended up with 3 of them, I only posted 2 but they all 3 look the same. They are very nice and yes, I am very pleased with having 3 that look like they do. They are very dark and to what I've read, they are becoming what they are supposed to be. Thanks Bill.
Thanks Charlie, I'm satisfied to have these to start with. They really do look nicer then the pictures show. Seems that just when I'm ready to take the picture, they start moving around. lol

Bill I am cooking a Boston Butt in my Big Green Egg and I will go into the Craft Room where I got some old Poultry Presses and look at the judges section. Maybe this will trigger my memory who told this to me. He was real old when I talked to him in the mid or high 80s that was 30 years ago.

By the way Bill the Cockerel you sent me and his two pullets are looking good. I am going to mate him back to them and try to put together my new line called the New York Line. He came through his molt and looks very nice. The female one of them won best of breed at a show I showed at and got on Champion Row. Very happy with the gift you gave me and will try to keep his line going for many years.

For you who dont know New York Reds won Grand Champion of a show in New York last year on a R I Red bantam ckl. To win that big over all that good competition is BIG.

Bill I am cooking a Boston Butt in my Big Green Egg and ...

Nice to run into another Egghead. I have 2, a large and a medium. I've had the medium since 1999 and have been offered more than I paid for it a couple different times.

Edit its 6:19 P.M. and finished making my first Acrylic Custom Hand Crafted PenTook two trys
broke the first stick to much pressure. The second time did it right. Five down
and 50 to go to get to expert status. Kind of like breeding chickens take a while to get the
hang of it. The pulled pork Boston Butt was the best ever. This was my fourth one getting \
better every time I try to cook on the Green Egg. Life is good KISS.


I got it at 275 degrees and she is just cooking away a total of six hours to cook this Boston Butt.

Going to look for the old poultry presses and then turn two ink pens for gifts for Christmas to give two of my Fishing Buddy's.

Found a fellow from Oklahoma who turns Custom Pens as well.

With all these hobbies who has times to raise chickens?

Start with this 3/4 x3/4 by 5 inch stick of wood and in about 45 minutes
you got a custom made turned on a lathe ink pen.

This is a pullet that has been in a pen with a male back feathers messed up a little bit but has good lenth of back
and brick shape. I think I know who her sire and dam is. Nice bird thanks for sending the picture to us to look at.

A few weeks ago I asked the question how to tell if a rooster is a full blooded old timey RIR. Well I answered my own question when I saw the one my elderly neighbor brought to me, I had given him some eggs back in the spring. This rooster is mahogany colored but that is all, he looks and feels just like a production red. Has a high tail weighs hardly anything so he'll have to just go on down the road. Doesn't look anything like my NYreds cockerels. They are big, heavy, dark, masculine and have the big deep crows where as this rooster kinda crows tenor.
