Only the best 8 hens make it to the four breeding pens each year. I do ship eggs each spring but am not going to take any orders I haven't already received after the losses I've experienced this week. We've had no power or water since Monday, so I've lost an entire incubator of eggs. The first group of 30 is thankfully doing well. They were pictured right after hatch a few days back. They've spent the last 4 days in a dog crate next to my wood stove. It's been 60 degrees in this room all week, so hardiness apparently pays off as all chicks are doing well. And yes, I have litters of taboos in my basement also (I NEVER bring animals in the house). But the only water we have is the tub we filled on Monday. We're charging our cells phones once a day in the truck. Lol

Man I hate that for you! Where in TN. are you? Sorry you have no water or power!!! I sure hope it's back on quick! Our cousin lives in Ceverville sp? I sure hope they have it since he has cancer and it pretty bad right now.
They do have a wood heater thank goodness and his hospt. bed is set up in there to.
