Out of all the terrifying creatures in the forest, Charlie was the one who finally got the honor to cause Cam to scream bloody murder.
She screeched, and consequently demanded “How long have you been here?” She stood for a moment, breathing in a sigh.
“You came this close to fainting,” Kyle said, pinching his index finger and thumb impossibly close. “Seriously, breathe next time.”
Cam considered punting him all thirty miles to the next village, but decided against it, we still need some kind of responsible adult supervising us. Before things dissolve into chaos. Besides, Kyle is kinda cute.

Charlie almost tripped again when he stepped back from Cam's scream. "The whole time," he gave her a weird look. "Why do you ask?"

Aella waited for Ciro to dismount the rhino, and then she swung her leg over her back and slid herself down, landing carefully. "Unfortunetely, there is a lack of them." She agreed. "There's no lack of them in New York, though. Especially in the city."
She peered at the wolf in his arms for a moment, tilting her head slightly. She outstretched a hand, brushing the rumpled fur along it's neck smooth gently, despite the beast's mutters of protest. "It's alright," she murmured when it protested. "I'll go find the healer for you, okay?" She waited for a few moments, waiting for a mutter or sigh in response. When she didn't get one, she straightened and nodded to Ciro. "I'll going find the healer to help," she told him, before she turned and vanished into the midst of the group reluctantly, hoping everyone would just leave her alone and not stare and whisper.

Maya appeared out of nowhere and proceeded to poke Charlie several times. When that didn't get his attention, she turned him around forcefully. He gave her a blank stare. "They have a wolf." She said, confusion obvious in her voice. "Charlie."
"Huh? I-" Charlie stopped short to stare at the huge wolf cradled in Ciro's arms.

Take felt Rylie brush past his ankle, and started to move, still holding Blair’s hand firmly. “Aye Kyle, where are we going?” he asked, never receiving clarification from Clary and knowing for a fact that he should know where he’s leading the group. He glanced back to see a rhino, the spanish speaking guy, and the girl he nicknamed Scarface. Haddie brought them over... why do they have a wolf though..? He took his eyes away and put them back on Kyle.

(I like how unconcerned he is. XD)

Due to the inactivity of the group, a manticore decided to speed things up a bit. It was gruesome, with several rows of teeth in a man's face. It had a lion's russet body and claws. And it had a long tail with a ball of stinging spikes sticking out of the end. Bat wings hovered over it like death. Most terrifying, however, were it's piercing blue eyes, disturbingly human.
First, it tackled Eve, digging in its lion claws.
It shook it's tail, shooting spikes out of its tail. One of the dart-like spikes caught in Cam's right arm and the paralytic poison began to work immediately. Her arm quickly became about as useful as a dead brown twig.
Simultaneously, the lion creature shot out its great head and took a bite out of Take.

"Oh, ****." Maya yelped, diving away as a tail whipped through the air towards her. She crouched and felt around the forest floor until she had a sizable stick, though she noted that it had a weird, sticky substance on it that would probably poison her or something. She got up, bravely brandishing the stick, though she didn't feel brave at all. I should definitely run.
Meanwhile, Charlie went invisible.

It took a lot of mustered strength to gather Rylie's (and Kyle's own) courage to approach the beast, but eventually, Kyle managed. Wow, the quiet girl didn't even scream. Admirable. Is she dumb, then? Kyle wondered.
The beast removed itself from the girl due to Hana's offense and screamed a dreadfully human scream. Its tail was gone.
As it processed what had happened, the monster moved to tackle the masked girl instead.

Hana let out a grunt as she was tackled to the ground, shoving her katana horizontally into its massive mouth full of razor sharp teeth to prevent it from reaching her face. Her mother’s voice filled into her head, ridiculing her for her poor defense and letting her target overpower her.

She forcefully pushed the curved blade deeper and deeper into its mouth, to hopefully rip up the inside. Her skin became harder and harder, and yelling out as she thrusted it’s head away.

Blair had heard of manticores before. Of course, anyone who knew about mythology would. She knew they were supposed to be terrifying creatures, one that man was never able to defeat.
However, she was not prepared to ever meet one. Not prepared for how horrifying it was, especially when it was trying to eat her boyfriend right in front of her. Her soulmate.
As Hana sliced its wicked tail off, Blair's hands morphed, razor sharp claws sprouting in place of nails and lunged at the manticore. She lashed out, slashing her claws repeatedly in its eyes and face. When the tiny scream of Kyle echoed through the air, she pulled away, her hands covered in the oddly sticky blood. "Courir, Kit! Courir! She shouted at the collie who stood frozen, and at her command tore down the path way. She spun, facing Take. "Nous dev– I mean, we have to run, Take. Come on!"

Take cursed loudly as the blood flowed through his fingers. Move idiot, you gotta get out of here. His legs started to move, running as fast as they could take him, his heart pounding in his chest. He only gripped tighter onto his arm, to prevent it from bleeding anymore freely. Heal damnit! So I can tear that stupid beast to shreds!

Lilith went back in time, smiling at Kevin. "Yeah, you have." She laughed. "Thanks."

Kylan sprinted forward beside her, his eyes widening. What is it now?

Lilith also sprang forward, her heart pounding. The sound of crashing undergrowth spread around them-- And even more fear began crawling into her. Calm down, calm down!

Kevin’s head snapped up. He drew his gun, looking around. “What is it?” He asked softly, spinning in a slow circle.

The stench of blood was overwhelming, driving the wolf mad and making a knot of anxiety curl in her stomach, her heart racing. "Their bite is venomous!" She blurted out suddenly, breathless from fear. "Their spines and their bite...its supposed to be venomous..."

“Venomous? Wha-what like a snake venomous?” Take panted as he ran, glancing down at his wounded arm, uncovering it with his hand to see rows of teeth along it. When it was exposed to the air, he immediately regretted it. It felt like thousands of needles were pricking his exposed flesh. He threw his bloodied hand back over it, wincing slightly.

Haddie was about to shift back into a human when a beast kept out of the woods. Manticore? I didn't realize those existed... She attempted to shift into one, but it didn't come to her like all of the other animals she could do, even animals she had never seen, like dragons. Guess this oon's completely unearthly... she shifted into a human just long enough to yell. "If you can't run, grab onto me!" With that she shifted back into a rhino, kneeling with just her front legs and carefully hooking him onto her back with her horn. She looked for anyone else who couldn't run.

"Manticoress!" Kylan yelped, a huge animal bounding from the shadows in front of them.

Lilith skidded to a halt, eyes widening at the sight of the lithe creature of myth. She practically ripped her dagger from its sheath, clutching it with white knuckles. She paled even more, her eyes flickering blue for a moment.

Aria let out a shout of surprise as the creature sprang from the dark shadows “what on earth is a Manticoress?”
